Not sure more touring in 2014 is a good thing unless there are plans to write and record after next summer's tour. I didn't hear the interview but it sounds like another record is not a big priority. I was hoping they would make it a priority with their career winding down. At this stage I look forward to records more than tours.

Alex didn't mention anything about recording any new stuff, but touring seems to be their focus right now while they are still able! Upcoming 2013 2nd leg for CA in Europe & US summer dates (not announced/confirmed yet), then 2014 for R40 shows! After that, who knows!!

You can tell though that playing the long shows are becoming more arduous for the boys. R40 is not a lock but they are certainly moving likely towards doing that which is great. That could be it as I suspect an extended break after that. Perhaps one more album and tour after that. Either way, so thankful we've had such a GREAT GREAT run!

I couldn't say it better myself.

Alex...how could anyone not like this guy? I would love to have a few drinks with him and not talk about Rush.

The key to Rush's further longevity lies in their diet and a daily exercise routine. They should be doing weight resistamce and aerobic exercise 6d per week. Otherwise, they will struggle to keep heads above water in the coming years!

BTW, if anyone's curious, here's the song Alex mentioned in the interview when asked what the first guitar solo was he saw in person that inspired him. IMHO, it is most definitively NOT a good song, but I'm sure some will be curious:

Thanks goober!! I was curious about this solo that Alex had mentioned. Band picture from 1968?...wow, I was only 1 year old...no wonder I never heard of 'em....must have been real popular back then...

They seemed to have some mild popularity that was very short lived. They only made one album:

Thanks for posting that. I quite enjoyed it (I liked the solo too.) I think I'm going to track down the CD.
