What will they play at Induction?

I feel very strongly they are going to play Headlong Flight. It is an incredibly rocking tune that sounds like classic Rush, with insane chops from all 3 of them. The lyrics are kind of appropriate for the occasion. And last but not least it will be Rush's way of telling the RRHOF "we're not done yet" this is our latest". It would be so boring if they do Tom Sawer and Spirit of Radio. I think doing a new tune would show the world how relevant they still are

You make a great argument for Headlong Flight. Excellent points.

I definitely feel that Tom Sawyer should be shelved.

Limelight - commentary on fame and success.

The Spirit of Radio - commentary on commercial Rock radio

Tom Sawyer - a song about the cool outsider who doesn't give a shit because he's high most of the time anyway

Working Man - remind everyone Alex wrote one of the most identifiable rock riffs of all time

Does anyone know typically how much time is allotted to each inductee?

And fudge all that we have to listen to Public Enemy.

Cameron Crow will be there. Does he like RUSH?

Am I the only one who thinks they should play The Garden?

I was thinking The Garden as well. So that the director could focus on the hot violinist.

The other song prolly Tom Sawyer *cringes*

For those who are dreaming about La Villa: is it really that difficult to imagine the reaction of an "uninitiated" "chewing" La Villa?

0-4 seconds: "wha-?"

5-8 seconds: checks twitter

9-12 seconds: "I need to pee"

- comes back -

"wha- they still on?"

twits: boring

- goes away -

When Metallica was inducted in 2009, they did Master of Puppets and Enter Sandman. So, you had one major radio hit, and one concert classic. In that vein, I'd say Rush does Tom Sawyer/TSoR, and Working Man/YYZ. If they are allowed, they may do both of the radio hits and either YYZ or Working Man.

I'm watching the 2012 Ceremony on HBO On Demand. It looks like two songs, tops.

**The inductee gets an intro with video clips giving a history and importance of the band.

**Then the band takes the stage and says thank you.

**Then the band jams (possibly with other musicians) -- OR other musicians play 2 songs by the band.

e.g. for 2012 the Beastie Boys songs were performed by Kid Rock with a backing group. While the Faces minus Rod Stewart took the stage and performed Stay with Me.

NOTE: Faces actually performed a 3-song set at the ceremony, but only one song made the cut of the HBO show.

All-Star Jam?

Yikes.

Heart does a pretty decent version of Led Zeps Rock and Roll.

But other then that, I don't see much overlap in any of the artists playing with RUSH.

Last years jam finale was Stevie Wonder's Higher Ground performed by a good mix of cool musicians.

They've done it many years at the Waldorf Astoria ballroom in NYC.

So chill.

Nokia live holds 7100. It's a great venue in downtown L.A.

The group jam should be 21st Century Schizoid Man straight into Smoke on the Water culminating with Lerxst and Chuck D burning down the building. Edited by Ged Lent's sis

I think, regardless of how many songs they get, "YYZ" should be played. It's commercial enough where people will know it, and it's technical enough to show just why they deserve to be in there.

The Garden would be great!

I can totally see them playing something that has never gotten any radio play and that most of the audience will have never heard of instead of the radio hits.
