I just bought the BOC sampler cd which is a compilation from the new box set!

There is an exclusive track in it! A cover of "Subsitute" The Who of course!

I can't wait to hear it!

It sucks being a completist!

Wait! I mean it RULES!!!

1973 is good, no doubt. But 1971 reigns supreme:

Led Zeppelin IV

Who's Next

Fragile

Sticky Fingers

Aqualung

Master of Reality

Allman Brothers Fillmore East

Grateful Dead - Skull and Roses

The Yes Album

Fragile

Meddle

Nursery Cryme

And those are just the ones from my favorite bands...here's more:

LA Woman

Tarkus

Hunky Dory (Bowie)

Electric Warrior (T Rex)

Every Picture Tells a Story (Rod)

Pretty good case there!

Hard to beat the early 70s. Paul McCartney put out his best solo tunes then too... as I type, Uncle Alberta / Admiral Halsey is playing on the radio. Great song!

Selling England by the Pound was maybe the best of that year... maybe.

"Can you tell me where my country lies, said the uniform to his true love's eyes"

Pure art...

Well for me 1973 was clearly a better year for Zep, Yes, Sabs, Floyd, Genesis and The Who. Can't believe the amount of goodness contained in just that bunch. Remember this is subjective, not going on worldwide sales or anything as bogus. Not really a fan for the rest of that list :)
