ELP - Brain Salad Surgery

Little Feat - Dixie Chicken

Paul Simon - There Goes Rhymin' Simon

Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells

The Allman Brothers Band - Brothers and Sisters

The Carpenters - Now and Then (I love The Carpenters) with Yesterday Once More (my favourite Carpenters' song)

I keep thinking of great 1973 albums (or songs). A fabulous year in music for all of the albums everyone has listed plus the one's we've overlooked.

You could probably make a similar thread for every year from about 1967 to about 1983

 very true

Actually i like more 1972. Thats when most bands release their best stuff (at least in prog circles). You know:

Tarkus

Close to the Edge

Foxtrot

Thick as a Brick

And i think theres more, but i dont remember right now.

And if i have to admit it, the only pop album that i trully enjoy (and i do this whit some grade of shame) come out in 1972:

Something/Anything? from Todd Rundgren.

Nothing shameful about enjoying Something/Anything?, or anything Todd Rundgren did for that matter.

And thumbs up to whoever mentioned Tom Waits' Closing Time and Innervisions by Stevie Wonder.

Maybe not for you, man, but... its pop... its pop.

I feel so dirty...

Drink that smooth joyful pop down. It's not going to hurt you.
