I went through all the tours since Moving Pictures. I excluded any so called "warm-up" mini tours. I included songs that were (a) either played partially as in a medley and (cool.gif songs that were played for only a portion of a tour. I only included original studio songs.

There have been 15 tours in this time span. 385 total songs played.

If there are only 15 tours how was TSoR played 16 times?

Lol. Yea, I was hoping someone wouldn't catch that. Lol. Basically, I tried to compress data from HTML to excel, then delete all the baggage.

I think there was a tour where they started SOR, medleyed it with others, and then concluded with SOR. Hence it was listed twice. I'm going to check now.

Yes, the list only starts with the MP tour. Thanks for the backup.

It's 15. RTB. Encore started and ended with SOR.

Considering it was an AOR radio staple and considering Signals was quite successful, I am very surprised New World Man hasn't been played more often. Makes me think there's a very good chance it's on the setlist this time, especially considering it's the album's anniversary as well.

The thing about "New World Man": it's popularity is in large part due to riding the coattails of Moving Pictures and Permanent Waves. As far as radio play goes, Rush was at their apex when Signals was released. The world was poised to devour any new music from them at that point in time, and the anticipation was at a fever pitch. So, in 1982 Rush could have released a cover of the theme to The Flintstones and it would have charted high.

Not to knock New World Man, it's a good song...I just still have a hard time believing that (if not mistaken) it's their all time highest-charted single. And not meaning to shift the thread in a different direction, I'll get back on course and predict that "Losing It" will be the 'surprise' Signals deep track inclusion on the CA tour (not a stretch considering the string section on this tour).

Interesting...I'd love to see a cross reference like Dave Matthews has on one of his fan sites...you can plug in what shows you've seen, then you are able to see what songs you've heard from which albums....his is a little more complex, however since the setlist changes from night to night.

Try setlist.fm for something similar. For any band, pick the shows you've been to, and it will tell you how many times you've seen a band play a song.
