You are older than me and therefore have had the opportunity to see more Rush shows than me

It would be interesting to know how many of your parents were into Rush, or if any of you had parents who hated Rush and are annoyed now that you like them laugh.gif

I only got into Rush in my twenties so I can't really comment on whether my parents approved or not. My dad passed away in 1994 so Ive no idea whether he heard of them and my mum, like the rest of my family and mos of my friends, had never heard of them.

If I had to guess, I'd say they probably wouldn't have minded. It's certainly better than the stuff I was into at the time!

My mom Hates Rush.....and my Dad is not a music person. When I would put on Rush it would HAVE to be through headphones. My uncle is the one who got me started on Rush.

Neither of my parents listen to Rush and only know of the band because of me. They see it the same as they see any guitar-oriented rock from post 1967 - fine if the volume isn't too high or they don't have to listen to it for too long.

Neither of mine heard of them either. I don't they wouldv'e liked them. All I ever heard was Radio 1 and Radio 2, and a couple of pirate radio stations, and none of them ever played Rush. So consequently, I never heard of them up until 8 years ago.

Album: Presto. I really like a good chunk of the songs on the album but if I had to pick one now it would be Show don't tell.

Born in '94, so I guess that makes me closest to CP...

Picking a favourite song is impossible. Probably either Animate, Cut to the Chase, LtTA, Cold Fire or Alien Shore.

Wow, I love that album.

If it's a birthday song I guess it has to be Animate! Hard to start your life with a better song than that!

For those of us that have come into existence during Rush's career (now, that ought to make 'em feel old!): select the album that best corresponds with your birth year! Then, to take it one step further, leave a comment picking your favourite song from that album; that song is your 'birthday song'!

*ahem* I'll begin. I came wailing into the world in 1982, so my album is Signals. My favourite song from that album... let's see... I think I'll go with 'Digital Man'. Thus, that's my birthday song!

note: yes, the poll choices end with Vapor Trails - I just don't see anyone under the age of 10 hanging out here.... But please do correct me if I'm wrong! wink.gif

Signals is also from my birth year.

I will go with "Losing It" as my birthday song.

Permanent Waves.

My father saw them in Landover, MD on this tour, two weeks prior to my b-day!

Well I was born in the middle of the Counterparts tour so I guess that's my album.

Hey, I was at that show. For a moment I heard a lady screaming louder than Geddy and suddenly a wet bloody baby flew by doing this: 1022.gif

It was the best show ever.
