Rush Rush, they're good for the heart.
The more you eat, the more you fart.

sarcasm.gif

What is the big fascination with men and farting??? confused13.gif

CuervosMan, could you explain this please??? I believe we just had this conversation... laugh.gif

Flatulence is something men have in abundance

although we're always shifting the blame.

Rather than owning up, we just run and hide,

that's better than facing the shame.

Generous amounts of accolades we have herein
Elevating my spirit from within
Doggedly pursuing my one true desire
Do I dare name what lights that fire?
Yet I dont think I need bring light upon his name
Love shines brighter than a bonfire's flame
Eternal grace bespoken through hands and voice
Elevates my soul, and wills my heart to rejoice

...how was that Madra?  biggrin.gif

yes.gif biggrin.gif

My desk resonates with the echoes of new applause!!

laugh.gif Hooray! laugh.gif Okay, now one for Mr Nep smile.gif

Never have I read such inspiring lyrics

Ever penned from such talented hands

In truth it totally elevates my spirit

Longingly I wish I'd the talent of that man

Peering into his marvelous ingenuity

Effervescence gives way to splendour

Artform that bursts forth in waves of lament

Restless churning waves that render

Those of us completely and utterly content

...that was a tough one, being 9 lines and all wink.gif

I want to pay a tribute to Launchpad67a,

whose collage of sound and images has really made my day.

A labour of love reflecting a man of impeccable taste,

with a deep reservoir of talent that's not let go to waste.

My words are scarcely adequate to convey my admiration,

my senses are still reeling from his artistic creation.

From Red Sector A to Red Lenses, the links are quite beguiling,

all I can say is Hip Hip Horray - Irish eyes are smiling biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Lovely accolades you have given, my friend

And yet, I have to give more

Unable to contain the joy that I pen

Not sure how to explain why I fell on the floor!

Choosing his pictures and soundbites so wisely

He put them together ever so well

Placing them in a pattern so nicely

And we watch the sequences where we dwell

Drums and bass and guitar playing galore

7 times over I've watched it now

6 times I had to watch it to make it 1 more

And yet I think theres more watching in store!!

Yes I've waited too long to enter this fray

Yet the urge to be rhymin one can't take away

So allow me to rant and please let me rave

It's what I do best, whenever I'm brave

But first please folks, I need to give props

To those who started all this, you folks are the tops

You've inspired me again and for that you will curse

For from my old keyboard I bring forth new verse

So look out below and watch from above

The BSG is rhymin' and sending out love wub.gif

To good folks out there, it takes all sorts

And to all the rest, well just eat my shorts moon.gif

Break out the beat box Homes, MC BSG is in da house. Respect!!

Yo listen to me it's BSG

blastin' out the poet-ree.

With a weapon that's ballistic

his detecting is holistic,

following the trail

of his music's Holy Grail.

He'll show you all his preferences,

and share his Rushian references.

He spits in deep disdain

at the eye of the hurricane.

He's prepard to live the dream

now the new job's come onstream.

He's just turned 41

but the best has yet to come

as the Time Lords turn the page

next year he'll be the perfect age.

Can he kick it?

Of course he can!!

Man! Among your strengths, a poet and a rappah!

Are there any other talents from us that you're hiding?

Do we need to search for them much harder?

Really no, as to this thread you've been applying..

All these things we've seen and rejoiced therein

Silently laughed or rolled on the floor from

Never once have you strayed from rhythmic pairings

Ever constantly rhyming, metered like a drum

All we can do is read and keep staring!

Carefree are your words and your style is wide

Hats off to you, Madra, we are all quite impressed

To all of your talents, they must be exemplified

And never be buried, nor called second best!

To The Tapers smile.gif

We hail all the tapers, the unseen masses

Who bring to us many Rush shows galore

Be it in CD audio or glorious DVD formats

These are tapings of the music we adore!

I started my journey not knowing the size

Wanting only the shows of my attendance

The volume of bootlegs soon surpassed my hard drive

I came to find the count of shows was immense!

So on I trudge off to stores unknown

In search of more supplies

More CD-Rs and a bigger hard drive

and, methinks, for the taper's a Throne smile.gif

THANK YOU!!

2.gif wub.gif A Poem For My Sisters wub.gif 2.gif

Tis time I think to write a verse, or maybe p'haps a few

Here in this thread and in another, I think maybe I should

Ever I do this happily, as I love my sisters so true

Rejoice we are the Maidens of this fabulous Sisterhood

United in the joy we receive from Pratt, Lerxst and Dirk

Solemnly we carve our name in Rush's male fan base

Holding fastly to our love, sometimes we go quite berserk

So working rather hard we've finally MADE ourselves a place

I think we've done rather we'll, my dears, and I hope to say we can

Sisters, dear, one day we'll meet and have ourselves a beer trink38.gif laugh.gif

Though the Sisterhood was kinda formed to show Rush does have female fans wink.gif

Every day it has brought me many friends, and more so an abundance of cheer

Rush is an amazing band, but it's certainly not just that

Hell, their musicianship alone is a topic enough for this board!

Okay, my point is they brought us all together and that's nothing to sneeze at!

Over the months, we'll all wait as they get ready to record

Dancing with the hope that we'll all be meeting some show soon 2.gif

It Was '76

I Was Merely Eleven

Aerosmith at the Forum

And I was in Heaven

Came for the 'Smith

But That Would Soon Change

The Opening Chords Hit Me

I Suddenly Felt Strange

"Bastille Day" Cranking

Through P.A. and Amps

Right Then and There I Thought

"Here Are My Champs !"

Excited I Was

Every Chord, Every Song

I Knew All of a Sudden

I'd Be a Fan Very Long

35 Minutes Later

It Was Finished, Done

"In The Mood" Over

This Was Just Way Too Much Fun

From That Day Forward

A Fan I Would Be

Every Album, Every Tour

I Simply Had To See

28 Years Have Passed

RUSH Still Are My Band

Neil, Alex , and Geddy

Tour The Land

I Bring My Young Son

And He Sees The Light

This Greatest of Bands

The Sound And The Light

I Think Back Through The Years

The Memories So Fond

My Passion For RUSH

So Strong Is This Bond

Now As I Listen

I Might Shed A Tear

"Time Stand Still" Plays

To Me It Is Dear. smile.gif

ChefEllwood, you're welcome to our little thread

to share the musings adrift in your head.

I was 12 in '76,

getting up to the usual pre-teenage tricks.

My musical evolution was yet to emerge,

I just liked chart music and any old dirge.

T'was 1980 before I heard of the boys,

The Spirit of Radio was an interesting noise.

A year after that, I was truely obsessed,

soon I had bought every album they'd pressed.

To see them live then became my ambition,

I yearned to experience a real live rendition.

It took until this year to realise that aim,

they've never played Ireland, and that's a real shame.

You saw 'em at 11- I'm jealous as hell,

especially as you saw Aerosmith there as well.

That must have been a joyous commotion.

just one question - Did they play "Sweet Emotion?".

I wince as I think this, Madra my dear

You two won't wish to know my age that year!

For I was not even a sparkle in my fathers' eye

Or even a twinkle up there in the sky...

I was not born until ten days before

They graced a stage in the city of New York

Playing songs such as Something for Nothing

On the tour of A Farewell To Kings

Written into the lines of these verses

Are clues to my date of birth

To the person who answers correct and swift

Gets a boot right from my list smile.gif

**Disclaimer: Family members are disqualified - from this contest - Rhiannon, it's just unfair, you were there when I was born wink.gif

Boot list located under the Different Stages board (will be updated soon as well with more boots - and not only Rush either smile.gif )

Moonie buddy, I do believe it's so

You've won quite handily, and she can't say no

I researched a bit, even asked for a clue

But I was quite skunked by the likes of you

And so now I must be kicking myself

The answer it seems she gave it herself

I just thought to look at the lady's profile

What I saw there, it just made me smile

Not saying you looked, but boy if you did

You'd see it so plain, it was not even hid

This is quite cute, I just have to laugh icon_really_happy_guy.gif

At Lakeside Maiden's bit of a gaffe

Or if I'm mistaken, and she added it later

I'm certainly sorry, next time I'll think straighter

Once again, not whining, just found an excuse

To whip out a rhyme, and be so obtuse

Your birthday is Nov/02/1977?

As I think back, BSG is quite right

The answer was not hidden, it was quite in plain sight

But Moonie, correct you are, and now for your loot

Once I've updated my list today you may then choose a boot

Oh Saturday Saturday! What an excuse

To watch some football and maybe cut loose

It's NCAA, but it'll just hafta do

Till 'real" football comes on day number two

Of this weekly reprieve we call the weekend

Then pass the evening with a drink and a friend

Or hang 'round the net with "virtual buds"

While partaking a bit of quality suds

So leave me alone, don't tell me 'bout chores

I know all about them, they just give me bores

The yard needs mowing, the jungle needs taming

I'll get to it soon, soon as I finish this gaming

But as of right now I'm a la-z a$$

So leave me alone, I'll soon cut the grass tongue.gif

Foosball Foosball, what is the hype of this crud?

It's just men in spandex chasing a dead pig in the mud!! *Thanks RoR laugh.gif *

But speaking of spandex, I must digress

and speak of Geddy Lee in said Spandex

Left To Chance is quite a wonderful show

The audio is grand, but, lo I speak of the video

Dancing, leaping and running around

The sight is amazing, I almost fell to the ground wub.gif

To this site of the Spandex clad Ged, I say

Please mention to him, for me, a roll in the hay laugh.gif

yo yo I'm no poet

but I'm a rapper

Rhyme's I write I take from the crapper

But let me show you who I am

go to your PC and turn on your cam

I'll show you muscle, show you mass

don't like it I'll show you my ass

Wait I'll take that back, pal

only ass I'll show is to AlsGal

my sweetie, my honey

worth more than money

but we ain't here to discuss

or to make a fuss,

about a crush

we hear to talk about a band called Rush

like Crocker is to Betty

bass is to the Geddy

and that is true

but what about the other two?

The guitar Alex's strummin'

Neil tearing it up drummin'

They're a bout to play, HUSH

now let's here the band we call RUSH

Peace out.
