Only a two year gap between albums for this band? I'm dumbfounded. I just wish for it to actually be good....

Carry Fire

Here's a song off the album. I love his last album. Good for him.

Looking forward to the upcoming lost Neil Young album, Hitchhiker, in a week.

Hoping the upcoming Killers album is a return to form. Their first two are great but Day And Age is inconsistent and Battle Born was a big disappointment.

As far as reissues go, looking forward to the 50th anniversary of Strange Days by The Doors.

For those into some very new heavy alternative rock with strong hardcore influences and an incredible lead vocalist, may I suggest The Marmozets, who are supposed to be releasing their second album later this year...I think.

Cannot stand them. Saw them support young guns and...not for me. She is lovely though, I have met the band. But being nice doesn't mean I like the music.

They have a fair few fans though.

So, has anyone here heard of Pale Waves? They seem to be a very new indie-pop band coming out of the UK (possibly a very big The Cure influence in their aesthetic). I've been seeing them kinda a whole lot on youtube and spotify and iTunes, but something's really confounding me about them.

They only have four songs out.

And this isn't like one whole EP they've just released. I mean they've released four individual songs over the course of last year between like February and December. They've been hugely promoted by someone from The 1975, who are a relatively popular alt-pop band themselves, and I guess they must have enough material to tour with because they've been touring and playing shows for a while now. They even have pretty professional looking music videos for their songs and have been promoted by Vevo on youtube. Now, having listened lightly to their music, I can say I see the appeal and I enjoy it myself. I think they could be a totally awesome band that I'd love to get to know better, but they've only got the four songs. How exactly do they already have so much hype for a group that fans, for even most of the year, could only really listen to 2 or 3 songs from (the last song was released just a few weeks ago)? Where is all this attention coming from? I mean, it's not like they're blowing up with their songs being played in malls and shops everywhere you go or anything, but this certainly seems like an extraordinary amount of press for a band that barely has a recorded history, let alone a discography.

They're scheduled to release their first EP sometime this month, with three tracks (two having been previously released as singles). Here are a few songs they've released. What do you think?

Paul McCartney - Egypt Station

Slash with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators - Living the Dream. I’d rather see Slash concentrate on this to be honest.

You keep saying. I'm glad he's not.

Can't be as bad as that 99 percent instrumental TER cash grab from Sony in 2014, am I right?

That's fantastic!!! I'll download them all (even though I have the bootlegs already, it ought to be a cardinal principle to get the artists' work when available).

Still a little disappointed there's nothing from March '73 -- I'd give a great deal for a release-quality version of "Childhood's End" live.
