For those who may like bluegrass/country:

http://thegreatdividemusic.com/

Apparently he's been working on this for years. I'd heard rumors of it for quite awhile, but never thought it would actually come to fruition.  Not my favorite genre of music, but will check it our when released.

I never really listened to bluegrass, but because its Tommy Shaw, I'll check it out. I listened to snippets of songs on his facebook and it sounded interesting.

this sounds fantastic!

As good as Hazards? ohmy.gif

Then either there's a 2011 album that will surprise me, or The Decemberists will have their second straight AOTY.

Finally after a 2 year wait because of record company b.s., Skinny Puppy's new album In Solvent See is due to be released next month!

I may be the only person on this board excited about this, but that's okay!

Revised once again:

Big & Rich - TBA (no date, but Big Kenny has mentioned it twice now, and their last record came out in 2007, so I'm sure it's sincere.)

Black Cards - TBA (this is more guessing than anything, but I'm sure that since they have two finished songs out and have been doing shows that it'll come out this year)

blink-182 - TBA (expected sometime around May.)

Dr. Dre - Detox (no date, obviously, but two album singles have been officially released, so there is hope...)

Lupe Fiasco - Lasers (March 8)

Panic! At the Disco - Vices and Virtues (March 29)

Patrick Stump - Soul Punk (sometime in February, according to his last update)

Radiohead - TBA (sometime in 2011)

Travis Barker - Give the Drummer Some (March 15)

Added Travis Barker's new album and removed The Decemberists, since that album has been out for three weeks.

Journey
Well, the news is out! Eclipse, the new Journey studio album, will be
released on May 24! In North America, the album is available only at
Walmart.

Frontiers Records will release the album in the rest of the world on, or
...close to, May 24, The 12 tracks were written over the past 18 months by
the core team of guitarist Neal Schon and keyboard player Jonathan Cain
with collaboration from singer Arnel Pineda.

I really liked the last album so I'm looking forward to this.

Devin Townsend just finished mixing "Deconstruction," which is going to be released along with "Ghost" most likely in June. From what I understand, they are both double albums.

This Tuesday, I'll be heading to Best Buy to pick up these three records:

1. new Thursday album (Common Existence), a band whom I'm not too familiar with, though I did enjoy their last record;

2. new TV on the Radio record (Nine Types of Light), a band I've heard nothing but good things about for the past two years, though I've failed to listen to an album of theirs;

3. new Foo Fighters record (Wasted Light), a band where I know a couple of their songs but I don't own an album of theirs.

So basically, these are my gateways into these bands. I hope I enjoy all of them, which I probably will to some extent...

The Jelly Jam- Shall We Descend?

Didn't know there was a third Jelly Jam in the works...thanks for the tip.

Man, that TyTabor may be the busiest man in rock!

This is definitely on my list!

really looking forward to the arch/matheos record in september. for one no portnoy drumming which is a plus for me, i think he overpowers the mellow recordings and heavy but slower songs on the a twist of fate EP on 2003. bobby jarzombek is a great drummer and his work with his brother ron in spastic ink is some of the most underrated in the genre.

pretty much the only release left im looking forward to. megadeth's next one feels like the record company is putting too much pressure on them to get a mainstream hit by using disturbed's producer, opeth's next is supposedly mellow with little to no death metal elements and dream theater's latest kind of sounds like their mailing it in again without an outside producer and the lame song titles. i'll keep an open mind history tends to repat itself in these cases more often than not.

Anathema - Falling Deeper

What are the new versions like? I was never a fan of their earlier material but still curious to hear how the orchestral treatments have turned out.
