Pearl Jam - Ten
Queen - News Of The World

News Of The World is a bloody great album! It's Late, Sheer Heart Attack, My Melancholy Blues, All Dead All Dead.

Glad you've got the Pearl Jam bug!! Vitalogy & Yield are my top 2.

Few bits I got over the past few days:

The Mars Volta - Amputechture

Planxty - Planxty(vinyl)

Sweeney's Men - Sweeney's Men(vinyl)

Peter Gabriel - Live

Marillion -Marbles on the Road(DVD)

I'd say it's the most complete Queen album.

And yes, I'm also glad I've caught the Pearl Jam bug. Should be getting Yield sometime soon.

I LOVE Yield!

Binaural and No Code are really good too!

Finally replaced my classic Quo LPs(Early to mid '70's) with the cd remasters.

Had a great day playing them.

They are:

Piledriver

Hello

Quo

On The Level

Blue For You

Quo Live

Fabulous stuff. "Heads down, no-nonsense boogie" indeed.

sad to say, as a recording band, they've been rotten since, but way back when, they were great.

Raising Sand on vinyl arrived today as well!!!!!

I'm pissed that I didn't get the cover version of "Candy and a Currant Bun." I mean, I did get a bonus DVD with "Cygnus....Vismund....Cygnus" and haven't watched it yet, but I'd really love to hear TMV cover a Syd-era Floyd song...

I just got my copy and the dvd doesn't work in my dvd player or the xbox 360.

And I think the cover you can get on The Mars Volta website.

Oh really? I thought I read that somewhere that the bonus DVD doesn't work on American DVD players...

And I'll have to check out their main website for the cover of "Candy and a Currant Bun". Thanks for the info... trink39.gif

I've been buying an arseload of music lately...among the titles:

Moonmadness by Camel

Fitzcarraldo by The Frames

The Cost by The Frames

The Final Cut by Pink Floyd

Nomvula by Freshlyground

Shadow Man by Johnny Clegg & Savuka

Third World Child by Johnny Clegg & Savuka

Cruel, Crazy, Beautiful World by Johnny Clegg & Savuka

I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings by Radiohead

Hail to the Thief by Radiohead

Discipline by King Crimson

Beat by King Crimson

Three of a Perfect Pair by King Crimson

Space Revolver by The Flower Kings

Paradox Hotel by The Flower Kings

One Life by Johnny Clegg

Point of Know Return by Kansas

A Passion Play by Jethro Tull

I'm anticipating (either already ordered or plan to purchase soon):

Rain Dances by Camel

Stationary Traveller by Camel

Burn the Maps by The Frames

Set List by The Frames

The Decline of British Sea Power by British Sea Power

Open Season by British Sea Power

Wood River by Connie Kaldor

A by Jethro Tull

The Unforgettable Fire by U2

And the amazing thing, the thing that makes me love my obsession with building my music library, is that I enjoy every single one of those albums I've gotten recently. Some of them I'd been meaning to buy for literally years (The Final Cut, One Life, Discipline) and others I bought on a lark (Nomvula, Moonmadness, Paradox Hotel). And I like them all. Some I do like more than others, but I have found a wealth of great music to enjoy on every disc, and that's a wonderful feeling.

Point of Know Return by Kansas
A Passion Play by Jethro Tull

I'm really addicted to these two albums... For some reason, I wasn't a big fan of Portrait on Point of Know Return when I first got it, but now it has grown on me to the point where it's one of my favorites.

Connie Kaldor's Wood River came today. Interesting album; it's a mix of live and studio tracks, mostly acoustic- and piano-driven ballads. If you're a fan of folk music, Wood River is a nice look at the Canadian prairies scene.

Got The Decline of British Sea Power by British Sea Power. I'm listening to it now. The first three tracks sound like bizarre outtakes and aren't at all to my tastes, but from there on out, everything has been pretty damn good. It's indie alt-rock, for the curious, with some progressive leanings (one of the songs is 14 minutes long). Edited by Kudzu
