Anyone else enjoying System of a Down's stuff?
Their last 2 albums (Hypnotize and Mesmerize) are awesome !

Mesmerize I really liked when it came out, Hypnotize didn't do much for me at all.

The Alarm (and the name of the album has escaped me; it's their latest) and the Church, "Uninvited Like The Clouds."

The line from The Spirit of Radio, "plays that song that's so elusive" always makes me think of the Church, and how I spent three weeks trying to find out the name of the band, because I was totally in love with a song of theirs I kept hearing on the local college radio station. It was "No Explanation," which predated "Under The Milky Way" by almost four years...

Forgot to mention, yesterday my guitarist gave me the new 2006 remaster of Boston's debut.

And also today someone from Atease (Radiohead board) hooked me up with an extra copy of OK Computer (mine was scratched to all hell) as well as a copy of the Afghan Whigs' Black Love, which I am digging so far.

I really love the extended version on Soldier Side on Hypnotize. Very heartfelt song.

Since my last post,

Ripped Supertramp's Breakfast in America (dunno why it wasn't in my computer already)

Same with Zeppelin's BBC Sessions

I got Kansas- The Best of Kansas

Rush- Vapor Trails

Iron Maiden- Brave New World (picked it up used for $5)

Yes- The Ladder (Picked it up new for $5)

The Mars Volta- Amputechture (I'm definately buying it once it comes out)

and I'm currently downloading a Dream Theater boot from the Six Degrees tour --this is the track list:

The Glass Prison

6:00

Beyond This Life

Surrounded

Another Hand - The Killing Hand

Misunderstoon

Lie (Tool Jam)

Peruvian Skies

Pull Me Under

Overture

About to Crash

War Inside My Head

The Test That Stumped Them All

Goodnight Kiss

Solitary Shell

About to Crash (Reprise)

Losing Time - Grand Finale

The Spirit Carries On

Take the Time (Working Man - By-Tor)

I'll probably be picking up Pink Floyd's Pulse CD and DVD sets soon, maybe along with Thunder.

EDIT:

I'm also really looking forward to the Dream Theater 20th Anniversarry set coming out on I think 8/29...I can't wait to hear Octavarium in its entirety live, not to mention Learning to Live is on there too.

I just got the new Bronx album

It's not as aggressive or punk-ish as their older stuff, but it still rocks and there's more melody. Very solid album front to back.

OK, I'm on my 2nd listen, still absorbing everything... Whenever I listen to new music, it takes me a long time to absorb it.

Man, that title track was good, like a modern-day Supper's Ready... I need to hear it again tomorrow, I'm probably going to go to bed before it starts.

Bob Dylan- Highway 61 Revisited

Buffalo Springfield- Best Of

Mike Oldfield- Tubular Bells

Simon & Garfunkel- Bookends

" - Bridge Over Troubled Water

" - Sounds of Silence

^^I already had all of those, just never got the chance to rip them. I ripped them all yesterday. Plus I got

As I Lay Dying- Shadows Are Security

Pink Floyd- Atom Heart Mother

As soon as I get some money, I'll probably buy Falling Into Infinity by Dream Theater, and maybe another Pink Floyd album.
