Finally got a record player set up last week so I went to a local antique mall. Some people wanted way too much for 40 year old records in awful shape, but I found a couple good ones for $4.

Kansas - Leftoverture

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours

My gf also gifted me a cheap copy of Metallica - Ride the Lightning from Walmart

I have Leftoverture and a copy of Ride The Lightning from Walmart. Is yours "Lightning Blue"?

That’s the way to do it! Bargain bins and gifts!

When I first started collecting I always found great deals at flea markets and thrift stores. I own quite a few $2-$5 albums that sound great! I'm meaning to hit up a used vinyl store nearby as they're pretty fair.

Yes lol. I honestly didn't expect a Metallica record to come in under $25. Usually there's a bit of a premium for them.

The records my parents got me for birthday arrived in the mail yesterday!

Dance Gavin Dance - Acceptance Speech

Dance Gavin Dance - Mothership

Both are picture discs!

My sister also got me Lifes Rich Pageant by R.E.M. for my birthday.

I also finally received two albums I pre-ordered back in April two weeks ago.

In Her Own Words - Steady Glow (Green Smoke)

In Her Own Words - Distance Or Decay (Blue Smoke)

The singer from In Her Own Words is from Rome, NY, which isn't too far from me

Picked up some cheap music at the show last night

Elder - Reflections of a Floating World (Vinyl)

Elder - Dead Roots Stirring

Howling Giant - The Space Between World's (Vinyl)

I would have bought a Ruby The Hatchet CD if they weren't $25!!

I found a first pressing of Fables Of The Reconstruction by R.E.M. today at a local record store. I also recently ordered I Am The Movie by Motion City Soundtrack on Epitaph Records' website. It's white with tangerine and black splatter. I couldn't insert the image, so here's the link if you want to see it.

New Tesseract album is out. War of Being.

Album absolutely RIPS. The screaming is about as strong as it was on the debut album, which I don't typically prefer, but Dan Tompkins is showing incredible vocal diversity everywhere. The bass lines are so good. The ambient stuff that they've basically trademarked hits as hard as the riffs.

Every song on this album is a delight. 10/10 and easily their best, honeymoon period be damned. Sometimes you just know.
