Permanent Waves... LOL

Because of the up-skirt panty shot?

Well, it doesn't hurt!

For a T-shirt I pick Fly by Night,I would love to have that image with full wings and no text on a t-shirt. The Red CA t-shirt looks pretty cool.

The only thing I do not like about the PW cover is the haircut, I think it is a bit dated, but then maybe album covers should be a bit dated.

Permanent Waves is just iconic RUSH to me. But, ATWAS will be my all-time favorite album cover - those double bass drums! The Marshall stacks! The Red Star! 1022.gif

So, lots of love for GUP. Cool.

I've always wondered about a few aspects of the image.

The water drop at bottom center looks like a guitar. I assume this was intentional. I see teeth and an eye. Nothing in the swirling water seems to be a hidden image, though.

But the sinking chunk of metal near image center - it always appeared (to me) to resemble a map of the northeastern USA. From Wisconsin to Maine. Bisected by lake Michigan. Anyone else think that?

P/g!

One of their best albums.. and their best cover.

MP is awesome as well. The multiple meanings are awesome.

1. The men "Moving Pictures"

2. The people on the steps being moved by the pictures

3. When you flip it over to look at the back you realize they're making a moving picture.

Excellent stuff there as well.

#3 on my list would be Power Windows.

GUP.....Too bad the content didn't measure up.

Mick

I thought the content measures up. When it came out, I didn't but it has grown on me over time.

The cover of GUP has a cold, austere vibe, which perfectly matches the musical content of the album. Great cover for a great album.

While albums covers such as MP's are notable for their cleverness and covers like GUP's just look awesome, and certainly FBN is iconic, Signals is my favorite cover. I don't know why, lol.

Sigals is a cool one. Made for some of their best concert shirts as well. I lost my classic Signals baseball tee years ago... sad.gif
