Rough day for this year's Tour de France heroes. Froome had to leave the race, Wiggins nowhere to be found...Gold to Kazakhstan.

The other teams' tactics were to break up the GB teams race.

I can't believe the peloton wasn't able to catch that first group. It was only a 55 seconds lead with 25 km left. confused13.gif

Most disappointing, as I can think of few people who deserve gold less than Vinokourov. Let's see if he passes the dope screen.

For those of you who, like me, are utterly disgusted with NBC's coverage, I downloaded Expatshield VPN (free) and have been watching BBC's coverage. I can't do the live stream as that requires $$$, but just about everything is available, including Sports That Are Not Basketball. (I am so sick of Le Bron and the damn Dream Team I could vomit).

So far (crosses fingers) I haven't had any problems other than the odd buffering as I was watching the equestrian feed a few minutes behind the live action. And my home computer is an ancient and slow Dell!

I like to go to LiveTV.ru and Sportlemon.tv. They have feeds from different countries and you can watch almost all of the competitions. There are glitches (started watching table tennis and the internet guy switched over to swimming) but overall I'm satisfied.

Am I the only one who finds synchronized sports ridiculously silly?

They might as well be dancers at a Britney or Gaga concert.

It always seemed to me that people in synchro sports were mostly mediocre athletes.

They probably couldn't win a medal on their own in a solo event. Just my honest opinion.

I know-- Canada has won LOTS of medals in synchro sports.

I'm supposed to be proud of this, but for some reason I'm hesitant.

I can't watch synchro sports without laughing my head off.

They're so funny. It doesn't matter what particular sport it is.

The same could be said about pairs figure skating.

Jamie Sale & David Pelletier never won any championships by themselves.

On their own, they were nothing special & no one cared about them.

A commentator even said so in a documentary I saw on the CBC.

Quite a surprise for Poland, I think.

The Poles just won the World League and are favorites in the tournament...

ping pong now there's a game.... 1022.gif

I saw a girl, who was born with one hand, play table tennis today. Had a good start, was leading 2-0 but then lost the next 4 sets. eh.gif

we just lost a close ping pong match to china. angry.gif

It's amazing how many countries naturalize Chinese players. They're just too good...
