I like when it is ambient and atmospheric and the rapping takes the background, or if there is actually real music behind it. I forgot who it was but my friend was showing me this sick hip-hop artist who actually uses guitars, drums, and bass, as well as other real instruments. His lyrics are much better and well-written than the usual I got the best droll and fuckall the hoes lyrics. And the music is just great. But I rarely hear good rap/hip-hop, to me it's almost always garbage, and seriously all the people that defend rap thinking TRF aren't open-minded, you're just being silly now.
