Weird stuff! I liked Devil Doll the most. I'm going to listen to a couple of songs tonight and probably pick up an album. Devil Doll is great Dies Irae... Masterpiece. Devil Doll is the most mysteriously interesting band I've ever known of. Just check out their history, strange stuff. I have a lot of catching up to do... The Laser's Edge is going to be there and I think they have like 40 feet of table space. And they're going to have a bunch of stuff on clearance. Its going to be insane. Well if its on clearance, I'll buy everything I see! I'm bringing lots of spending money, but I want T-shirts and Posters too. I still only actually own 2 albums out of all the NEARfest artists. Better get to the dealer room before I do if you plan on buying everything on clearance. I think I'm going to only buy a couple of shirts and a NEARfest program and spend the rest of my money on CDs. ETA: What 2 albums do you have? There's only 2 bands that I'm completely unfamiliar with - Helmet of Gnats and Aranis. H to He Who am the Only One, and Pawn Hearts, and I had them both before I even had heard of NEARfest. But I am pretty familiar with Renaissance, UK, Anglagard, and Helmet of Gnats. I have also heard some of Mike Keneally and Twelfth Night. I am totally in the dark for Aranis and Il Tempio delle Clessidre, and I know I am not a fan of Gosta Berlings Saga. I think I am going to get maybe 2 shirts, 2 posters (one Roger Dean), and then spend a bunch on CDs.
The K Man
Get the new Flower Kings CD, the 2-CD version with the bonus tracks! It is yet another very good effort by the symphonic proggers from Sweden.
Yefa
I completely agree on rushgoober's high praise for the following albums. Can - Tago Mago Amon Duul II - Dance of the Lemmings There's a fairly recent reissue of Tago Mago with added material that I need to pick up. I'm not a big fan of double dipping in general, but Tago Mago is one of my all-time favorites so it's a necessity. Try to find something by the Swedish band Trad Gras Och Stenar. I love their music. Also check out the Finnish band Circle. They have a wide variety of music so it might be best to ask the dealer about the different titles to determine which ones sound best to you. That album I really like, but I don't love it like so many 70's prog fans do - mostly it's the vocalist I'm not crazy about - still, a very solid album and one I should probably revisit soon. ColdFireYYZ
They have the new Anglagard album - I'm getting in tomorrow. Also seeing the band live! The only album from Goober's list of 5 albums that they had was the PFM album so I got it. I didn't really look thoroughly though so I'm hoping I can find more tomorrow. They had a lot of Anekdoten. I may get an album or two since I have A Time of Day and I like it.

What's your fave album? They only have 3 albums out. My favorite is the debut, Hybris, but the newest album, Viljans Oga, is a great instrumental album that's almost as good as Hybris. The second album, Epilog is great as well but I'd check out Hybris first.
ColdFireYYZ
Since I started this thread in June, I've listened to/bought albums from: Devin Townsend (who is now one of my all-time favorites), Animals as Leaders, Popol Vuh, Devil Doll, Alamaailman Vasarat, Clearlight, Can, Harmonium, Locanda Delle Fate, and others based on recommendations here. Thanks a lot everyone! I can't imagine what my music tastes would be like if I didn't discover this forum - there's been countless bands that people here have introduced me to.
