I can safely say that if Rush tours with an orchestra, you would not be able to GIVE tickets away.

QUOTE (Lost In Xanadu @ Apr 19 2012, 09:09 AM)
For Chicago:

US $50.50 Ticket + US $10.61 Fees/Additional Taxes = US $61.11
US $151.00 Ticket + US $12.81 Fees/Additional Taxes = US $163.81

New Jersey - $170

Just like Van Halen , they are living under a rock and don't know money is tight all around

And just like Van Halen, they will sell massive amounts of tickets to people for whom money isn't that tight.

I ABSOLUTELY HATE being disabled, but I do like the fact that I can get seats within the first three rows for face value and NOT have to pay a scalper.

Best value I ever had at a Rush show was back in 2007 on the S&A Tour.

$80 TOTAL - 10th Row Centre on the Floor (in London, Ontario).

That was a GREAT show.

Neil's birthday... beautiful small venue in a great little town.

I was 7th row dead center.. got some great pix!

Ticket prices haven't been released yet for my "Local" show at The Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the Arena's still under construction for Geddy's sake!

With top price at the Prudential Center in NJ $170, I'm fully expecting it to be $200 plus a pop. ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

However, a Rush show, fifteen minutes on the subway from my front door is pretty much priceless! 2.gif

Yeah, theat's pretty much what I'm expecting as well.

I'm excited that Rush will be the first band I see play live there.

It's going to be amazing!

I just picked up a back issue of Circus magazine from 1989 on eBay. I'm going to post more about it later - because Rush is in it! - but the relevancy to this thread... in the letters page, there's this:

QUOTE
An average concert nowadays costs around $40 [per person]. That just includes the ticket and a concert shirt. Where I live, the closest place to attend a concert is around 40 miles away, so I have to figure gas and food costs. Add all that together, and I figure I'm paying around an additional $15. That's a lot of money.

There was more filler in the letter, but the response from the editors was hysterical. They blamed the high prices on the high insurance rates that bands have to pay because of vandalism! LMAO

So, yeah. 1989. $40 for a ticket and a shirt. Today, it's $40 for just the shirt!
