2012 - 11/23 - VEGAS, BABY!!!

Recommended Posts

So it sounds like a few people have seen Rush in Vegas at the MGM. Can anyone give me an idea of what it's going to be like there? Stadium type, seating, going in to the venue kind of stuff.

And I heard (somewhere) the MGM casino likes to play Rush through the speakers during the day of the concert!

We'll be in Vegas for 9 days, so does anyone have any things that are a must see I should know about?

I believe the MGM Grand does play Rush- I don't quite remember if it was throughout the day but I know I heard a few songs piped throughout the casino http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I went last year and I had a ball. Go eat Dick's (Last Resort) for breakfast, go see a Cirque du Soleil show, visit the Hoover Dam (I never got to- planning to this year!), swim in the MGM Grand lazy river (if you stay there), take a helicopter ride around the strip, watch the Bellagio water show!

I'm still bummed that they picked Thanksgiving weekend to play Vegas http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif

Just about any other weekend and I'd be going to Sin City to see the boys again.

It is crazy that they are doing this on the Thanksgiving Holiday!

I'm glad that I can pull it off although hitting Vegas for only one night sucks!

I wanted to stay for three!

I know it was pretty much Rush playing in the casino all night after the two shows I've seen there. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/1022.gif

Vegas is a great place to see Rush. Yes, MGM plays their music, and there are video screens promoting the show around the hotel. Seems like I saw the promo in the elevators about 100 times.

The MGM Grand Arena is a pretty good place to see a show. We had a fun meet-up at Wolfgang Puck's for the Time Machine tour.

I agree that you should check out a Cirque Du Soleil show while you're there. Ka plays at the MGM, and it is our favorite CDS presentation.

I am so envious of you guys this year. We've seen Rush in Vegas three times, and planned on going back, but the Thanskgiving date just screws it all up.

Have a great time!

Awesome, thanks for the heads up! Five months...now we play the waiting game.

I'm actually stoked to be going down for Thanksgiving. Hedonistic Thanksgiving Vegas buffet? Yes please. And that's open to anyone who wants to join.

Seeing Rush in Vegas, is like eating a bag of Fresh Lays Potatoe Chips!

"YOU CAN'T EAT JUST ONE"

Now, it's my excuse to go to Vegas. I was really bumbed when S&A's tour stopped twice in Vegas - Both Legs!

Besides The MGM Show, I want to see them at The Red Rocks!

They rescheduled on me, during the S&A tour, due to severe weather that was in KANSAS! Not Colorado!!! - I flew solo to Denver, and was Denied! DOH!

I must return for my "make up show" - The Red Rocks is just an insanely epic venue!!!

Red Rocks= the most beautiful setting ever to play a concert in. I'm so lucky I get to see a majority of my concerts there.

Mandalay is one of my favorite places to stay in Vegas.

Enjoy!

I suggest the Buffet at the ti. One of the best buffets Vegas has to offer. Then walk off your lunch at the Fashion Show Mall. I've lived there for 5 years and there's sooo much to do. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/653.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/cool.gif Have fun!!!

The Gorge is fantastic too, saw Rush there in '97 with the beautiful Columbia River as a backdrop and it was a blast! Wandering around the campground all night after the concert meeting Rush fans from everywhere was great and you haven't lived until you've seen someone drumming and singing the Fountain of Lamneth on bongo drums.

Wish the Vegas stop wasn't during Thanksgiving weekend, I'd love to get down there but I think I would hear about it at home. A lot.

I really want to meet up with some other fans before this show, since I missed out on the pre-show meetups for the last two shows. Damn traffic!
