Been to Pine Knob before on VT or R30. Drove up from Indy. Totally enjoyed myself. Haven't been to the Palace though.

The Palace is a great venue. You'll have a good time.

Palace is a great place. I was at DTE (Pine Knob) for VT too. I used to live in Indy and saw Rush a couple times at the old Market Square Arena and at Deer Creek too.

I've never been to the Palace before. I went to Toledo for the Time Machine Tour, and it was an awesome experience. If decent tickets are more expensive here in Michigan, I'll probably be going to Ohio again.

If all works well, though, I'd be interested in meeting up. I live in Lincoln Park, for those of you familiar with the downriver area, or two exits south of Detroit, for those who aren't. I'll be bringing my mom, my best friend/guitarist, and little sister. I got my mom into Rush but she didn't get to go last time, as she could only afford two tickets and she sent me and my best friend. This time, I'm treating her! It will also be my sister's first show, so hopefully I'll make a fan of her yet! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif

I've heard as well that Detroit is a great audience for Rush. The audience at Toledo was sorta meh (except me http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif). I've been to quite a few various shows in the Detroit area (and I cannot for the life of me think of any names of the venues). They were smaller venues, not like the Fillmore or anything, but Detroiters sure pack a punch when any rock/metal shows come to town. I remember seeing Mushroomhead with the ex a few years ago at a small venue on the crappy side of Detroit (lock your cars!), and that place was BANGIN. Wall to wall mass hysteria for 2 straight hours. Granted, Mushroomhead is a completely different band than Rush, so I can only hope for the same enthusiasm for Rush http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I was so bummed I forgot tickets went on sale this sat. So about 1:30 when I remembered I went to ticketmaster and found some ok decent seat but for some reason the website would not process my credit card. So now I don't know what I'm gonna do. I never miss a rush show in the D. So if anyone comes across two or 3 extra tickets let me know if not I'll probably just buy upper bowl horrible seats at the box office the day of the show that's what I did last time. Oh well I hope to meet up with all you fans before the show

Sept 18, 2012 - Detroit, MI

Palace of Auburn Hills

Meetup discussions here!

I'm returning to the Detroit area, the scene of my first Rush show (Permanent Waves tour at Cobo Hall) to visit my old high school and to catch the show at The Palace. I landed floor C, row 6 seats for the show and am looking forward to catching a show early in the tour, then hitting the home-town show in San Jose in November.

I'm planning to arrive in Detroit on Monday, so hope to attend any meet-up that gets planned for Tuesday. Can't wait for the 2012 "Rush Season" to start!

Rock on!

Permanent Waves tour was at Joe Louis Arena.
If you saw them at Cobo it was probably on Hemispheres.

Pretty sure I saw the PeW tour and am very sure it was Cobo, tier C...waaaaay back, so that the guys on stage looked like little stick figures off in the distance. I saw a show a little while later at Joe Louis... thought that was for MP. Maybe I saw two PeW shows, one at Cobo and one at Joe Luis. Or maybe Cobo was a PeW warm-up show? No matter. I was at Cobo for a show and then Joe Louis for another sometime around 1979 and/or '80. I wish I knew then how important those times would end up being in my life so I could have done more to save the memorabilia and remember the details.

Rock on!

The Palace is a great venue, don't get me wrong, but my favorite is dte (Pine Knob.) There is nothing like an outdoor concert with great sound. The "Tweeter Center" outside Chicago is another excellent venue for concerts...

have fun! I've seen them there a good dozen or so times since 1987...

If anybody is still looking for tickets, I just looked at TicketMaster and row 5 from the floor in Sect. 114 came up in pairs and row 2 in singles. A decent seat at face value...

If anybody is still looking for tickets...

I just shelled out for TM Platinum seats so now have an extra pair for the Detroit show. Sec. C, row 6, toward the outside aisle. I'll sell them for more than face but less than VIP or Platinum. PM to discuss the details.

Rock on!

MOD EDIT: You can try to sell your tickets here, but you CAN NOT sell them for more than face value. We do not allow that on TRF.
