I re-watched BOTH of the Daniel Craig Bond movies and all I can say is "wow". My mind was once again blown. And Quantum of Solace, which I used to knock on, is now one of my favorite Bonds after a re watch or two. There is just so much going on plot wise in Quantum.

Amazing. Amazing. Love both movies.

To me, Casino Royale is an all-time top three Bond film. Everything works. As for Quantum of Solace, it's several notches below Casino Royale, but nowhere as bad as its critics claim. If Skyfall falls somewhere between these two movies, it can be argued that Daniel Craig is the best Bond.

Casino Royale is a classic Bond film. It has everything you can think of that is loved about the Bond series. Also, to top it off Daniel's performance as 007 was amazing.

Quantum Of Solace was solid, but a little all over the place and was not quite as good as Casino Royale I felt. Also, Daniel Craig himself is not too fond of it as he stated in an interview not too long back. According to him, the film was very much so affected by the writer's strike that happened a few years back and they were finding themselves having to re-write different parts as they went along during filming.

I'm very much so looking forward to Skyfall. Its got a lot going for it, especially with a solid cast. I'm hoping it lives up to expectations, and I really feel that it will. If this film succeeds, I think it will cement Craig as a classic Bond.

He's already my favorite Bond. For everything he has control of (not the writing, for example) he is the best. Has the right combo of physicality, charm with the women, and darkness under the surface that the rest couldn;t package.

Latter tries to hard to be Bourne. He doesn't even say "Bond...James Bond" in the film.

But that means you're looking at the movie for what it COULD have been. Not what it really is. wink.gif

Quantum of Solace to me is much better after I started understanding the depth of the plot. I actually like it a lot better than what I used to now.

I know running into it thinking "OUUUUUUUU, sequel to Casino Royale biggrin.gif ", really skewed my expectations. The thing is, although it is the aftermath to Casino Royale, it still pushes the plot forward AMAZINGLY in my opinion. It's all leading up to Bond's main villain. I think the character depth of Bond was also greatly improved by Quantum.

Also, it makes sense to me that fans would not like it as much. I mean, Casino Royale was good. It introduced a plot extremely fast and jumped into it. New Bond, new plot it was fast paced and exciting. But Quantum of Solace to me did exactly what it was supposed to do. Slow it down a a bit and really dive into the depths of what is happening with the Quantum organization. Also, it fully solidifies Bond as a dedicated, cold-blooded agent.
