If this is true, I think we should make a rush limbaugh video, using clips of his show, take use them however we please, even dub words into his fat mouth. I don't understand how you can't tell a show not to use YOUR music as a bumper. That makes no sense. I'm sure legally it can be argued, but it just doesn't pass the common sense test for me. If I make music, and you start using it on your program, I should be able to tell you to stop. I don't get that at all.

And I concur...RS is trash, the same trash that the RRHOF is made up of.

Rush Limbaugh is requesting that Rush, the band, change its name to something so that people will not connect him in anyway to the band that asked him to remove their music from his show.

Rolling Stone has nothing of value to say. Why read it?

instead of reading it, wipe with it. tongue.gif

Tried it.

Glossy pages make this a serious mistake.

The Rolling Stone article does not rip on Rush in any way. It's a pretty neutral piece.

I agree.

It also answered a question Ive been asking - which is what the financial arrangement radio stations have with the publishers/copyrighters for themusic, and it describes it here.

They get a royalty for the pubic play, so the radio stations can play it.

The article makes it sound like the artist can object, but doesnt have a leg to stand on.

As far as the artist not having a leg to stand on: Chrissie Hynde from the Pretenders tried to do the same thing. Apparently Rush told her to pound sand because he uses "Ohio" as his intro music to this day.

I haven't listened to Rush Limbaugh in several days, so I don't know if he quit using Spirit of Radio as bumper music or not.
