wilb1972
Loved the Monkees -- they probably influenced more people than anyone is willing to admit. Good clean fun and great memories! I watch it now with my step daughters! Head was a fun film too. RIP Davy Jones!

go2wrk@95974
RIP, Mr Jones. Condolences to his wife and daughters. "Last train to Clarksville" is one of the top 20 songs of the 60's. If you listen to the lyric's, it's about leaving home to join the Army, during the Vietnam war..Recorded in 66, at the beginning of the military buildup for the war, it hit home with alot of people. The town of Clarksville is in the state of Tenn., not more then 50-100 miles from Ft. Cambell Ky., Home of the 101st Airborne division, of the US Army...The guys that go into the infantry, are bad ass mf'ers, needless to say...I say that with all the respect in the world. Those dudes are flippin' TOUGH. Anyway, That song is probably the Monkees best tune..It's my favorite, for sure. The Army base is spread across the Tennessee-Kentucky border with gates in both states. The town of Clarksville is right next to the base. R.I.P. Davy Jones. Thanks for the correction..The mileage was off a bit. Sorry bout that. Interesting side note. On "Last train to Clarksville" , The guitar legend Glenn Campbell , who was a session player in Hollywood at the time, played the lead solo in the middle/end part of the tune...great classic guitar riff/picking !
