furie
http://gizmodo.com/5886507/how-a-man-survi...snow+burieQ-car QUOTE When a Swedish man drove down a deserted forest road near Umeaa, Sweden last December 19th, he was probably looking forward to Christmas. But that day, his car somehow became buried under a mountain of snow. He was trapped there for two months, suffering insanely low temperatures, with no access to food. Last Sunday, he was discovered. Alive. But how? When police arrived at the snow-covered car, they found the 45-year-old man emaciated and too weak to say more than a few words. The man claimed to have been in the car since December 19th, and had eaten nothing since that day. Weather reports show that temperatures in the area dropped as low as minus 30C during the period. Talk about lucky.... yeah, "lucky" is one ((extremely positive)) way to look at it Yeah, even though he survived he will likely have health problems for the rest of his life. I'm surprised he didn't have any organ failures.

I'm surprised he didn't have any organ failures. According to the article, he didn't suffer any permanent damage anywhere, so he should recover fully. If the police had found him just a day or two later, it may have been a different story. Amazing story..... Chicken hawk
Thanks for sharing that story Furie. I wonder...was anybody looking for him? How did they come upon him finally?
thesweetscience
You can survive without food for a long time. Water on the other hand? I bet the cold helped him survive by keeping his metabolism down.
USB Connector
QUOTE (Tony R @ Feb 21 2012, 01:04 PM) I think there's something fishy about the whole thing. I have to agree with you. Even if he did eat snow for water, there's still the fact that he didn't freeze or starve to death to consider. I think it's great that they found this guy, but I also think that the time duration is being exaggerated.
go2wrk@95974
Yep...He either drank alot of snow..or ate alot of water! ..before or after it melted!! does that make any sense/cents?!??!? ...and it was probably 1 not 2 months..Still miraculous. I suspect a slight exaggeration with this story.
