Got tickets to see him in September. I'm glad he's finally playing the theater here. All he does is play theaters and casinos but for whatever reason he's never been booked to play the venue here. The theater gets all the touring musicals and plays so I'm not sure why they've never got Cooper to play here. I guess the venue was happy with booking Manheim Steamroller for the millionth Christmas in a row instead. I haven't seen Cooper in a while so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

He has the most intimidating discography ever lol, but I'm enjoying the albums I've started with

To me i'm still a new fan but his 70's period is far and away the best BUT again as a newer fan i'd recommensd any of these.

Love it to Death

Killer

Welcome To My Nightmare

Billion Dollar Babies

Goes to Hell

From The Inside

those are picks from the 70's.  now.......avoid the 80's. it may turn you flat off.  save those for last EXCEPT  Dada.  it's another blackout album.  but he pulled off a gem somehow. like  a Nightmare for the 80's.

If you want a nice taste of later Alice.....Last Temptation and Brutal Planet are VERY good.

Again......New fan but i'm already very familiar, lol

just my recommendations.

I've been a fan since Constrictor was released and this isn't too far off from what I would recommend for a newer listener. If one did want to hear anything from his hair metal era, I would go with Hey Stoopid. I love Dragontown too. Came out a year after Brutal Planet. They make a great one two punch.

The hair metal phase is one i never need to hear again.  but i agree.  Hey Stoopid is fun and that was obviusly my first intro to Alice as a kid.  Feed my Frankenstein was EVERYWHERE.  that was in big part due to his cameo in Wayne's World.

Since Segue loves stuff like Dokken and Ratt, that era of Cooper will probably blow his mind. It's nowhere near as bad as you think it is. Unlike a lot of hair metal bands, Cooper didn't suck at it.

Big Alice fan but he has an uneven discography.

Of the Hair Metal albums

-  Constrictor

- Raise Your Fist and Yell

- Trash

- Hey Stoopid

my fave is Raise Your Fist and Yell, only one clunker (Give the Radio Back). Side 2 k of that record is about as good a side of vinyl that Alice ever released, and that tour was bloody great.

the next period

The Last Temptation

Brutal Planet

Dragontown

I enjoyed much more than the Hair Metal years

Saw him for the ninth time last night. Got to see him do seven songs I've never seen him do before. Once he settles on a setlist, he will play that one for a long time. But he always manages to make sure that he throws in some different stuff whenever he changes it. Alice still performed and sounded really good. I'm not sure who else at age 74 is still that good on stage. His voice has lost some range and is a bit more gritty now but other than that, he has lost nothing. His band was great as usual although I wish Nita Strauss hadn't left. The set had more of the hair metal era in it which really fits her playing style well. The guy who replaced her played with Alice before so they lost nothing with the band chemistry.

The usual theatrics that we've come to expect from him were on fully display. He is still very much worth it to go see live. There was no opener. He came on at 7:45 and played until 9:30.

Here's the setlist.

He always seems to find a good balance with his set. He plays most of the big hits we expect but also brings out a number of deep cuts for the more diehard fans. I'm sure that he needs to keep it interesting for himself as well since he still plays a crazy amount of shows. I'm wondering why he isn't doing anything from the latest album though. Social Debris would fit in nicely alongside the older stuff.

not a huge fan of his latest two albums, but both of them are better than Welcome 2 which i think is his worst, especially considering he had the nerve to make a sequel one of his classic masterpieces... (Caffeine's a cool song though)

lately i've been listening to Eyes of Alice Cooper which is an album i haven't listened to more than once in the past (there are still a few left i have to get around to listening to more than just the once: Constrictor and Hey Stoopid are the others that are left)

the run of albums he had from Brutal thru Along Came a Spider was a really cool one, Alice has had a lot of different phases but he's been pretty consistent all in all. i wish we'd get another concept album.

His two most recent albums are his best since Dragontown. Not that the bar was set too high but they're still the best ones since then.

i seem to be one of the few who think Along Cam a Spider was pretty good, but as i alluded to earlier i'm usually a big fan of his concept work
