Greetings Net Boys and Net Girls,

You know that feeling you get when the show you've been waiting for

finally comes along and then is over before you know it?

It is a bit of feeling sad and of instant anticipation for the next tour.

I purchased my tickets for the Alice Cooper New York City show on March 1st

so I had more than four and a half months of waiting until last Thursday's show.

The Beacon Theatre gig came and was fantastic and was promptly followed by that,

"I can't wait until the next tour" feeling.

I come home from work on Monday only to find that Alice and Co. are playing not one,

but two shows in New Jersey in October.

Both within driving distance, one is less than 15 minutes from where I live.

Then, to top it off, I scored big with the Alice Cooper dot com presale of

Alice's "private stash" once again.

(50 year old man does happy dance...and isn't even embarrassed by doing so).

So, it is second row for Red Bank, NJ and third row for Morristown, NJ for yours truly.

Let the countdown begin...once again and thanks Alice!!!

~Cheers, RGLT

ReGor, good for you! I miss my Manhattan. It's where everything is at!

How is his voice doing? Can he still belt out the tunes? I can't watch vids or listen to audios 'cause I have dial-up.

Dial up? That still a thing? :o

I saw him live last month and yes he can still belt out the tunes. They do tune down the older stuff live like Rush does now to fit Alice's current range. Overall, his voice is a bit rougher than it used to be but that has actually made the older songs sound a bit more sinister now and it adds something special to it. He's still the charismatic showman he's always been on stage as well. I'm sure some would say now that he's been clean and sober for many years now that he's the best he's ever been on stage.

I couldn't agree more with your thoughts and observations.

One thing I would add is that at the NYC show his voice sounded better on The Who's My Generation than Roger Daltry's voice on The Who's most recent tour.

Could have been an off night for Roger and an inspired night by Alice.

Great TV documentary about Alice Cooper...a must see!

It is 20 minutes of a 30 minute special, but you really get a sense of the influence

the early years of Alice Cooper and The Alice Cooper Group had on music.

Saw him during the psycho circus tour. He played a lot of newer songs which I didn't really enjoy for the most part, but the show that he was putting on more than made up for that. Everything was so well done on stage that I still got into it. I went in for a concert and got rock and roll theater.

If this is the setlist, I'm gonna drive up to Tacoma and catch him in mid-November. Last saw him about 7 years ago (very good show) and before that I saw the original Welcome To My Nightmare tour in '76 I think (fukking incredible).

That was the Psycho Drama tour. That other shock rock act, who's all about money and not about making good music, was the Psycho Circus tour. Anyways, the setlist from that tour didn't have many new songs, most of it were old hits and deep cuts from his 70s albums. So it was more of a case of you not knowing his discography too well, not Alice doing new material.

Sorry, to go all "Cooper nerd" on you there but I just thought i'd clear things up :D

I'll just say that what are amazing are his concept albums.

Alice Cooper Goes To Hell is an amazing effort, probably one of my favorite albums now, definitely in my top 25. The other concept albums I've checked out (excluding brutal planet and dragontown, which are decent in their own rights but I don't consider them conceptual enough) are Welcome to my Nightmare and From the Inside. Both of these albums are great and come close to being as good as Goes to Hell. I have heard Along Came a Spider as well and that one's fun to listen to, but not much more than that.

For fun, my top 11 favorite songs of his (Chronological order):

Dead Babies

Department of Youth

Escape

I Never Cry

Give the Kid a Break

Guilty

I'm Always Chasing Rainbows

From the Inside

The Quiet Room

Serious

Inmates

alice is too good to open for the crue, personally I think it should be the other way around, but I'll still probably try to go. not a huge crue fan but I'm sure it'll be fun, they play the songs I actually like, and the lawn is sure to be a party at this show.

For those who don't know, Alice Cooper has been doing a radio show for nearly two years now and it really is a great listen.

http://affiliatefinder.unitedstations.com/nwac/

^ to find what radio stations near you are broadcasting it. Plenty of websites to listen to it on too, which is what I do.

Only have listened to one show, but the setlist was fantastic and he exercises his knowledge not only in songs of his own he plays, but others too.

Or, he offers his opinion at the very least. I've learned that 90125 is his favorite Yes record, not too big of a surprise but still nice to know.
