Homemade is the best, but I almost never do that anymore.

What is great is take some egg nog ice cream (frozen custard if you dare) and melt it down with a little milk and brandy. There is a great holiday drink.

We usually buy a couple half gallons over the next couple months, but that's it for me. I love the flavor, hate the heart attack around the corner.

I'm really going to regret asking this, but what is it?!

Surely, they must have it in the grocery stores near you during the Christmas season?!

Thanks for that, EmotionDetector. I should've added that I had heard of it, but never seen it, certainly not in our supermarkets (not even at Christmas time), and certainly never tried it. If I ever do get to buy one, I'll let you know what it was like.

Wow..really babycat? they don't have it in England? That's unreal!

Anyway, it's a Christmas holiday drink.

Here's what's in it:

12 eggs

6 cups of milk

2 cups of heavy thick cream

1 1/2 cups of sugar

2 tea spoons of nutmeg

Trust me,its good stuff!!..especially if you put

some booze in it,like rum or brandy, or whisky!!

..A couple glasses of spiked eggnog, and you are definitely

feelin' NO PAIN!!!

"Meh". I think it's okay. I'll have an 8 oz. glass around Christmas maybe a couple times, but any more than that I get sick of it. Only a little at a time for me, haha.

This kind. It's really good.

I just asked someone if she knew anything about it and she said she'd heard of it, but she didn't seem to think it could be bought. She did suggest an alternative - 'Avocar' or something like it (like avocado), but only served in a pub - all frothed up with a cherry on top and called 'Snowball'.

I couldn't vote. "Repulsive, snot drink" wasn't an option. tongue.gif

It has "egg" in it. Raw egg at that.

'Nuff said. However, I will happily eat the whipped cream off the top.

Not the stuff packaged in the store, the eggs have all been safely pasteurized smile.gif

Love the stuff! It is a holiday requirement with or without booze! (though with is preferable)

My brother and I go so goofy over it at this time of year that we will often, at random, send a text or email that simply reads

"nog"

love it love it love it. The stuff in the can, Borden brand...and only that.
