Rod in Toronto
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/cd/SuspiriaItaly.jpgLove Dario Argento, but I've never seen that one. Is it good? Not his best, although it has his signature elements - great soundtrack, tacky visuals, lots of red...

A couple I won't watch are Double Team (I saw that recently) and the one with Roger Moore (I saw that a while back too and it was a bit dull) oh and I started watching this new one called Swelter and that was terrible, so forget that one too! In fact, I wasn't even aware said remake existed until after I finished watching it and messaged someone asking someone if they saw it, to which they responded asking whether I meant the original or the remake. And, of course, I will not be watching the remake. Edited July 3, 2014 by Mr. IsNot

Rushman14
Just watched one of my all time favorites, a holiday classic, Independence Day. I really love everything about this movie. Great characters, including the finest fictional president in movie history; a compelling plot; a real sense of humanity at it's best- something hard to find in many movies these days; it's got action, suspense, drama, humor, heart... Just one of my favorite movies all around. even with that ending huh?

And, of course, I will not be watching the remake.I'm going to watch both versions in the next few weeks. apparently there's two remakes this year, one of which is "Our RoboCop Remake". Our RoboCop Remake is a crowd-sourced film project based on the 1987 Paul Verhoeven classic. Connected through various filmmaking channels (including Channel 101) we're 50 filmmakers (amateur and professional) from Los Angeles and New York who have split the original RoboCop into individual pieces and have remade the movie ourselves. Not necessarily a shot-for-shot remake, but a scene-for-scene retelling. As big fans of the original RoboCop, and as filmmakers and film fans admittedly rolling our eyes at the Hollywood remake machine, we've elected to do this remake thing our own way. Our RoboCop Remake premiered in Los Angeles on January 26th and New York on February 5th. On February 6th, it was released online. http://ourrobocopremake.com/

treeduck
The Van Damme kick has kicked off! http://i.imgur.com/mWpImGm.jpg A funnier than expected daft comedy. Van Damme hams it up nicely. http://i.imgur.com/nEhAwRM.jpg Van Damme as a mercenary butcher (no an actual butcher who sells meat) who also saves kids from traffickers. Not bad, but pretty standard action.
H. P. L.
There's just one man that, for me, comes before JCVD and Jason Statham in action flicks, and that man is Donnie Yen.You might have seen him in Blade or in the Ip Man trilogy (the first one: excellent, the other two: crap), but it's in the Chinese blockbusters that I enjoy him the most. Case in point: http://www.martialartsmoviejunkie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Iceman-Poster.jpg It's got everything you might want and even more: cryogenics, time travel, dick jokes, toilet jokes, costume drama, the golden-hearted whore that is not hot at all and lots of crazy fights. Pity it doesn't properly end because it paves the way for number 2.
treeduck
The Van Damme run continues... http://i.imgur.com/JAyezHO.jpg Dolph Lungren is hilarious in this and probably steals the show. For some reason he reminded me of Gene Simmons, I think it was his voice. Good action flick. http://i.imgur.com/BxgvGBT.jpg Dodgy sequel with JCVD now some kind of consultant on the Universal Soldier program. Interesting to see the wrestler Goldberg as the super soldier bad guy. Half decent but not a patch on the first film.
Mr. Not
http://theactionelite.com/site/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Con_air_movieposter.jpg Con Air... John Cusack as a marshal, Nicolas Cage as a the bad ass action hero, Steve Buscemi as a serial killer, and Trevor Rabin as score composer. The film starts off giving you the impression that it's a decently written film, but as it progresses you'll see progressively more over the top explosions when it eventually gets to the point where you just wish the resolution would occur already. Also, the comic relief gets tiring after a while too, but it's more than welcome when the film itself still is! This is the ultimate guilty pleasure film which will satisfy you to the point of boredom. Over the top, but if you ever get in the mood for an action blockbuster, put this on your watchlist. http://youtu.be/C1GvG2_5QVE Edited July 5, 2014 by Mr. IsNot

I just like this cover better :) Noah is not Darren Aronofsky's best work, but still another welcomed addition to his discography and one more masterpiece of evidence that he cannot create a bad film. Complaints? The CGI made me go "oh for f*cks sake..." one or two times, but otherwise was great. There was especially interesting scenery at the beginning. From there on I don't know whether I started to take it for granted, if I was too wrapped up in the story to notice much of it, or it really did lack this beauty mid-film.My second and last complaint, is the character Ham. He is just incredibly stupid, to the point where it's insufferable. There's a bit of dialogue between him and an antagonist which is way too forced. Oh, and fucĸ the actor who portrays him too. He holds a single expression for half of his appearances. Edited July 5, 2014 by Mr. IsNot
