Opera_-_Film_1987.jpg

Storm, what do you think ??

Top tier Argento ?

His last great film ??

Yeah, Opera is probably his last great film. I do like Trauma, Sleepless, and his segment from Two Evil Eyes, but I wouldn't call them great.

The Mother of Tears was pretty disappointing all around, but he made it up with Dracula 3D! Just kidding, I couldn't even finish that one. What a note to end on.

My top five, in order:

Suspiria

Phenomena

Inferno

Tenebrae

Deep Red

I've got to watch Trauma again .. I remember really liking it

you did it, you did it, you did it

A League of Their Own and Private Benjamin, in the last few days. I hadn't seen Private Benjamin in about 30 years! Still very funny and great performance by Goldie Hawn. I must have been in a female empowerment mood!

Remember The Titans, for the 40,000th time. And I own it! Somehow it is one of those movies, when I come across it changing channels, I end up leaving it on and watching it. Part of it is that is that it has a really excellent soundtrack. And Denzel.

Got Private in my Cinemax queue. Been wanting to see it for years. League is a classic and my favorite Geena performance. Miss seeing her in movies.

Dunkirk

Best Nolan film yet for me. And one of the most intense movies i've sat through in a while. it was actually draining, lol

but.....you must see it on the big screen. it WILL loose a lot on the small screen.

Mick

Sums Dunkirk up perfectly, fantastic film. I felt drained after watching it, its continually intense, never let s up. I think a lot would be lost on a smaller screen, this movie was made for the big screen.

The Confirmation (2016) starring Clive Owen and the young Jaeden Lieberher with cameos by Patton Oswalt and Matthew Modine.

A simple tale told very well imo. A reassuring film to watch when lifes getting you down.

Arrival, which confused the hell out of me

I thought it was much better than the similarly themed and same studio movie, Interstellar. Had the same problems with Interstellar.

Interstellar was confusing but in a way my brain could handle better. I should have like Arrival more because I was trained as a linguist just like the lead role. But I got confused by the trying to see the future as the past or whatever they were trying to do. Maybe I'll read the story it was based on.

Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. I saw it at Ravinia Park in Chicago, outdoors, with a live orchestra playing the score along with the film. Quite fun.

The Grand Budapest Hotel: It's a really interesting film directed by Wes Anderson starring Ralph Fiennes, F. Murray Abraham, Mathieu Amalric, Willem Dafoe, Bill Murray and Tilda Swinton. The movie itself I have to say is one of the better movies that came out in recent years, the story reminds me of the works of Agatha Christie but with more comedy thrown in.

Its a Mad Mad Mad Mad World

An all-time favorite.

That movie is a classic I swear it is one of my favorite films from the sixties, I mean Dr. Strangelove is awesome in it's own right because I love the comic styles of Peter Sellers, but It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World is by far one of the best when it comes to sixties comedy films, I especially love the airplane scenes, not to mention the firefighters are none other than The Three Stooges.

I can't tell you how much I love Fargo.

Fargo is amazing really twisted but amazing. I just cannot get the wood chipper scene out of my head, that or Frances McDormand's farcical portrayal of a Minnesotan.
