goose
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/91UecEZmS2L._SL1500_.jpg Watching it right now and liking it. The initial pirate recruitment scene is powerful. Details of life in the pirate village - like the chewing of Khat - really set the scene and establish the cultural divide.

EagleMoon
Watched this one the other night. Sad remake of My Favorite Wife, which was a hilarious classic movie . Worst acting job I've ever seen from James Garner. Usually I like Doris Day movies, but this was just...annoying. Just kept watching to see if it got better but it didn't. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51XASKJF64L.jpg Edited January 12, 2015 by EagleMoon

Babycat
An American Hippie in Israel The worst movie I have ever seen! Even worse than Birdemic, The Room and Troll 2? I've not seen any of those.
Mr. Not
Wow. There were quite a few stand out moments. One of them against the facility was this woman clinician who was told by a patient that he didn't want her there during the interview. "I don't know why you're here, I just want to do an interview with the BBC". He seemed irritated but didn't do anything out of line. Some time later he admits he was wrong and says in the outside world he could be penalized for something like that, as what he was doing was harassment. Louis questioned the clinician about this (who was also in the room during this second interview) and she said she did indeed feel like what he did was abuse her by belittling her and making her feel like she wasn't a credible source. Well, to this outsider who deals with people and emotions every day, I've got to say your feelings are entirely correct, lady: you are not a credible source... One for the facility was the fact that one man even went to the lengths of getting a castration to make him feel as if he could go back into society as a good citizen. He started off by using medications to emulate the castration, and then shortly after decided it was something he wanted to be permanent... We just hear this through the interview, this isn't a process we get to see unfold. Now I know this could be inhumane and maybe an argument against it was he was conditioned and manipulated into doing this, but given the tests they perform on the pedophiles (like the PPC test which tests for arousal while they're exposed to various sexual images) and their freedoms within the hospital, I really doubt that. http://i59.tinypic.com/2ik5bq0.jpg Edited January 12, 2015 by Mr. Not
Rod in Toronto
Louis Theroux is great. I saw a documentary he did on a crack town - can´t remember which one, but I´m thinking Fresno. They interviewed a crack addict who looked uncannily like George W Bush...

I liked it, it's like a new take on the classic "tough guy revenge" movie with a lot of posh thrown in and some post-black humor. I don't think a Russian would like it, but maybe... Keanu is good. Not stellar but good. I kept imagining Steve McQueen starring in his place.
