Transcendence. Johnny Depp about as bland as I've ever seen him. Movie had promise but even with Morgan Freeman it couldn't pull it out of the muck.

My mom will agree with me on this, even Freeman had been doing paycheck roles lately just like DeNiro in the new millennium. Fitting since they were in Last Vegas.

You think they were gambling all their money away? :)

I haven't seen this yet because I kept hearing how it wasn't that great. So you think it was decent?

I actually prefer it over District 9 which falls apart in the last half hour for me. However, even though Foster is my favorite living actress, this is her worst performance ever. I don't know what kind of accent she was going for and I frankly don't want to know either.

The "Catch up with Ricardo Darìn" marathon comes to a momentary close with this one:

It's a solid thriller, again no action whatsoever if you count out Darin going up and down the stairs of his home palace, where his kids have misteriously disappeared. It's one of those "it could happen to you" thrillers but the ending is good and satisfying. Again, with lesser actors it could have been a total mess.

First theorem of Ricardo Darìn: shaved Ricardo Darìn <<<<<<<< unshaved Ricardo Darìn

But even a shaved Ricardo Darìn is awesome

I saw that the other week. This one features the same characters (Ordell Robbie and Louis Gara) that appeared in Jackie Brown which makes it a kind of indirect prequel. This film is based on the Elmore Leonard novel "The Switch" published in 1978. "Rum Punch" published in 1992 and made into Jackie Brown was the follow up. They probably didn't use the title of the novel for the film because there's already a film called The Switch and ironically it stars Jennifer Aniston so it would have been doubly confusing for people who'd seen it.

yeah Foster was a little over the top with that strange French accent.

I quite liked it. This one, on the other hand, sucked!
