treeduck
QUOTE (drbirdsong @ Oct 8 2012, 09:37 AM) Now to find The Light At The Edge Of The World, sounds like a must see. Well if you can't find it it's here in full: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uc0ev2lzNZw [/quote] I watched it online. I feel like I got some bad hash and crashed for a while then got up and watched an odd movie. I sort of wish I had the hash. Weird, but in a you must see it way. How did you like Yul Brynner in that? I thought he excellent as the evil Jonathan Congre! I saw him in this French-made spy thriller the other day, Le Serpent aka Night Flight to Moscow with Henry Fonda and Dirk Bogarde. He played this Russian spy defector and he was really great in that too, totally stole the film...

invisible airwave
Looper This movie was worth the hype. About time there was a good high concept plot that had a good story to it.

Meanwhile: http://i.imgur.com/JTDkt.jpg The weirdest and most disturbing Cronenberg film! http://horrornews.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/excision-poster.jpg Another weird one, gruesome too but funny in places. He could have been a total wimp in real life, but he used to scare when I was a kid and saw him in The Ten Commandments. I'd hate to meet him a dark alley (especially now that he's been dead a while ).

treeduck
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d2/Ruinsposter.jpg Low-key and boring with annoying characters. One of the girls was particularly irritating to watch, she was so stupid! Near the end things go unnecessarily gruesome, maybe to liven up the drab story a little, but it makes no sense at all and fails. All in all very, very weak. http://www.bigredbarrel.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/cabin-in-the-woods-poster.jpg There's been a big debate about this one on here, some people think it's abysmally shite and some people really rate it. I'm somewhere in the middle. I started off not sure, but in the end I found it reasonably entertaining, not bad, about a 6 out of 10. I think the idea was good but they didn't do the best job with it. Thor was pretty disappointing as the macho "kid", he needs to grow his hair and get back to Asgard ASAP! Sigourney Weaver's appearance surprised me... http://i2.listal.com/image/836304/600full-drag-me-to-hell-poster.jpg I liked this one, it was kind of like the Evil Dead meets The Mask. Well it reminded me of The Mask anyway. Sam Raimi seems to have gone a little tame since he went blockbuster though, this has little of the atmosphere, the dark comedy, or twisted fun of the Evil Dead series. It lacks in the pure horror department too. That being said it was pretty good but I expected more from Raimi...
