I've searched all his posts, pulled out all the stops and have found not one instance to support the Admin stance.

That sucks Tony. I guess he was a victim of "Circumstances."

Bummer.

It was telling another member to "eat shit" that was his last straw.

Because that's a real outrage, isnt it?

With Nick, it's never any one post. That's all I'll say, because this thread is about the awfulness that is "Anagram." wink.gif

Hey Jim! I know you love Neil's punny wit and tongue in cheek sense of humor within his writing!

I will never understand why Rush never wanted to play "Available Light" live!

True, i also will never understand why they did 9 f-n songs from S&A live biggrin.gif

Neil's "wordplay" isn't always as clever as he thinks it is. In this case, it is! Genius! Especially lines like:

Reasoning is largely insane.

Image just an eyeless (i-less) game...

I'm embarrassed to say, I didn't "get" the song until '97 or '98, but then I saw its brilliance.

It would be brilliant if a 12 year old wrote it.

Without trying to be rude (me?) I "got" the song immediately. There just wasn't much to "get" and I am flummoxed that anyone needed to dig deeper to work out the inane play on words, puns and occasional anagrams contained in the lyrics.

I don't care one way or the other about them. And they aren't that clever; they aren't even real anagrams.

They are a fun diversion from other RUSH attempts at high art. I see "Dog Years" the same way, though most fans don't.

Neil does a good job sustaining the wordplay throughout the song, with rhythm and meaning reasonably sustained. Way better effort than Neurotica, IMO.

Hey Goose. I get the tongue in cheek lyrical content of "Dog Years."

It's nice to see the boys have a sense of humor but at the end of the day I hate that song.

As a matter of fact out of the entire Rush Canon "Testicles For Ego" is my least favorite album.

Even the music being played during "Dog Years" is well, dog shit.

It needs to be buried for good so the flies don't come and lay their eggs in the warm rotting stool.

Maggots are in us all.

Hey Dad!

I totally agree. Again, I could handle many of the "S&A" songs live as I really do love the record but man when they clumped five "S&A" songs in a row I could barely stand it.

Talk about one hell of a lull in a set list.

I wanted to "Spindrift" myself the fukk out of there!!

Love the words playing around in this song! 'The night is getting thin, the saint is turning to sin', and 'image is an eyeless game'. Great stuff! But so says a lover of wordplay; I'm sure not everyone really cares. I like that Neil stretches out sometimes, setting himself a lyrical goal (anagrams, writing in a pantoum-style, etc.) and accomplishing it. Cleverer than basic 'abcb' rhymes all the time!
