Segue Myles
I could cry...I just am so proud of Nightwish and so many are saying Download should praise the new guard more and have made them headliners. In the UK at least, Rammstein headlining makes little sense when a band like Nightwish are support. But oh well...they were terrific and some reviews praise them more than Maiden. Segue Myles
Completely random but... As much as I enjoy Ghost Love Score, I would forever replace it with Beauty Of The Beast (or at least have both). Playing it again, I think it's the bands most underrated classic. In fact, it might just be my favourite Tarja era song of them all. Such weight, and majesty, and melodic glory! I am someone who has never been all that in love with Ghost Love Score. I do enjoy it (especially live), but just as some dislike some of the bigger hits (Amaranth, Nemo), so do I not quite love this song (as much as I feel I am expected too).
Segue Myles
Also, I was interested to note that Marco Hietela thinks the two best songs of Dark Passion Play are (predicably) The Poet And The Pendulum, but more surprisingly, Cadence Of Her Last Breath. I love the bones of that song and I still think it is the great Nightwish single that never was! Playing the Marco fronted demo version only cements my love. In fact, whenever I hear the DPP demos the more I find myself drawn to the idea of a Nightwish release without female vocals. Marco Hietela is a fantastic singer and has a tone and a way of emotions that really envelops me. His demos of Eva and Cadence are actually two of my very favourite recordings in the whole Nightwish catalogue. Eva to me has always been special, and I just adore his version, more than I ever have Annette's. He sounds so mournful and sad and his voice carries the weight of pain and tragedy contained within the lyrics. It is beautiful
Segue Myles
The Eyes Of Sharbat Gula is a painfully underrated and absolutely gorgeous instrumental. The way it leads into The Greatest Show On Earth really helps set up the final song as something special. The Greatest Show On Earth is also without any competition at all my favourite sidelong epic ever. Oh my word Endless Forms Most Beautiful just keeps getting better.
J2112YYZ
Completely random but... As much as I enjoy Ghost Love Score, I would forever replace it with Beauty Of The Beast (or at least have both). I would love for them to make Beauty Of The Beast a regular whenever they have their next tour. Ghost Love Score has been great with Floor but they need to give it a rest and bring back that forgotten about gem. I will say that GLS did have some kind of healing power over me when I saw them in February. I've got a bad back due to a herniated disc I suffered several years ago. Sometimes at concerts when standing in the same spot for a long time, my back can still get stiff and really sore. Well, it was really starting to bother me at that point in the show but when GLS started I got so entranced by the performance that I completely forgot about my back hurting during it. A magical song indeed. Also, I was interested to note that Marco Hietela thinks the two best songs of Dark Passion Play are (predicably) The Poet And The Pendulum, but more surprisingly, Cadence Of Her Last Breath. He sounds so mournful and sad and his voice carries the weight of pain and tragedy contained within the lyrics. It is beautiful Nah, Marco is good at what he does in the band already. I don't think the old stuff would sound right live with him. Also, is he a strong enough singer to do a full Nightwish tour as lead singer? I don't think he is. If he became the lead singer, they lose what makes them special and they just become another metal band with a guy singing instead of a band with a beautiful and unique female voice. Sharbat Gula is the only song I skip on the album. I think it's placed in the wrong spot. It's a six minute instrumental followed by a song that has a five minute intro. It's just too much time without vocals for my liking. Also, nothing really happens in Sharbat Gula. Not sure why it was included.

It's just too much time without vocals for my liking. Also, nothing really happens in Sharbat Gula. Not sure why it was included. I have to admit I should take back a lot of my sentiments regarding GLS. It is a deeply precious song to me that to be fair I think lost a lot of appeal due to being overplayed. But seeing it live last year did bring back the love I have for it as it gave me intense chills. Floor resurrected the song back to life, and I would adore a studio recording with her (even though I know Nightwish are forward thinkers). As for Sharbat Gula, I love it and I adore that long intro to Greatest Show. In fact the lengthy break from vocals really helps set up the epic nature of the closing number to perfection. The album transitions in a patient and glorious way to my ears and there isn't a wasted moment. I have to say Endless Forms has a magic about it that from start to finish, I truly don't have any complaints. I was never this enamoured with Imaginaerum, and even Dark Passion Play took a couple of years for me to enjoy every song enough to not skip a song. And most importantly to me, the magic of Century Child is shared with Endless Forms. I played them both yesterday and that certain aura is so similar. I adore Century Child and I feel in many ways that Endless Forms is its true souk mate. Nightwish...I can never have enough!

J2112YYZ
Just read that Floor is four months pregnant. The dad is the drummer from Sabaton. Taking advantage of the year long break Nightwish will be on I see.

Verena
Today I just listened everything I've got from Nightwish. Man, I love this band so much. It's been years since I haven'ts listened to them like this. Floor Jansen. I know her work at After Forever, on Prision of Desire and Decipher. I listened to Élan today. Still don't have the last album, but I had lots of fun with Tarja and Anette eras. I just feel like posting song by song here. Hehehehe. Oceanborn is a masterpiece, as Century Child and Imaginaerum. It must be the same with Endless Forms Most Beautiful. :D *seeing what comes next* Edited October 9, 2016 by rhyv

It is also a top five album ever for me...which also contains Dark Passion Play! My rankings: 1. EFMB2. DPP3. Century Child4. Oceanborn5. Wishmaster6. Imaginaerum7. Angels Fall First8. Once I love every single album. All are right near the top of my all time favourites list...seriously this band means everything to me!

They are from what I read on a forum still tweaking it. The Showtime, Storytime blue ray went into print with some major flaws and they are working hard to avoid repeating that.

J2112YYZ
I didn't realise this until checking it now but they finally wrapped up their tour this month. I thought they were done already. They had shows in South Korea, China and Japan to close out this massive tour.
