I'm not afraid of dying at all. I don't think its healthy to get worked up over things like this.

Here we go again! Of course you don't. You're fifteen for chrissakes!.

"I don't think it's healthy". Thanks, Freud!

I turn 40 in a month and have begun thinking about it more and more. My father died at 42.

Yes, I am afraid. How cavalier of those who have no fear.

Your soul left your dying body. That just sounds way loony. You said it was common in the 60 and 70's. What about thousands of years before and after for that matter. Did this god creature decide to start giving people a second chance during the heavy drug era? WTF. How can a creature who exists in a time that never ends intervene in our time. It's very impossible. It's just scary that lots of people on this planet believe in life after death and believe that there is this god person. Loonies!

Are you 12?

I know a few people my age who are afraid of death. I know its not as common, but I didn't think age had anything to do with this.

Do I fear death? Right at this point? No. I know I'll be scared when it actually happens (accident/murder) or if I'm told I've got cancer or something though. Whenever i think about it mostly i feel sad. I believe in life after death and reincarnation.

My mum once told me that my grandmother had a near death experience where she got near the light and was told to go back.

IMO it's mostly the unknown that most people are afraid of. When? How? Pain? Fast or slow? Etc.

I'm not afraid at all. Besides, why be worried or scared of something that is inevitable?

My only hope is that if my ending is a painful one because of cancer or something, I'm doped up enough to expire while being higher than a kite on killer morphine or something.

I fear aging badly more than I do dying. I do not want to end up drooling and incontinent in a nursing home somewhere.

Would never happen. You are a feisty broad. You're going to be that old lady who goes out windmilling all the nursing home staff.

I think the result of this poll is not accurate. People can say one thing but if you were told you would die tomorrow, you would feel fear. Every last one of you.

I may feel a twinge of fear but mostly I would feel sad for my two little ones.

I think I would be scared of dying alone. That would scare me far more than my life ending.

One reason a person might fear dying (for those that believe in such things) is if they've done many wrong things in their past or maybe one terrible thing that they got away with but now feel guilty about. They might fear some kind of judgement to come.

What do you mean 'going to be'?

And her wingman's holding a freaking ax to boot!

If that's not flirting with death...

I'm not afraid of death. Never have been. It fascinates me more than anything.

What's the thought of a bad hair day do for ya?

Pisses me off.
