1) SORROW

2) HEY YOU

3) MONEY

I'll be honest...I don't know Pink Floyd as well as I should (yet!), but for now, these are my rankings.

Sorrow is far and away my favourite track...great lyrics and amazing guitar work (and solos) by Gilmour! Glad to see that others have mentioned this one too...

1. Interstellar Overdrive (16+ minute version from the Tonite Let's All Make Love In London soundtrack)

2. Echoes

3. Astronomy Domine

Honorable Mentions:

These early Syd songs/singles blow my mind:

Scream Thy Last Scream (never officially released)

Apples & Oranges

Candy & A Currant Bun

Arnold Layne

See Emily Play

Also:

Comfortably Numb

A Saucerful of Secrets

Paint Box

Remember A Day

Heart Beat, Pig Meat

Crumbling Land

See Saw

Sheep

Dogs

Also, pretty much all of Dark Side - it seems to work as one whole piece really well, so I find it hard to pick out best moments, but On the Run and Brain Damage/Eclipse are particular highlights from an album that is one solid 40+ minute highlight.

1.Time

So glad to see this one on so many lists. I'll never forget the first time I heard it. The clocks came on and I was like "whoa...". And the lead in that song is one of my all time favs.

2. In The Flesh

The harmonizing guitar riffs are gorgeous.

3. Sheep

Prog rock genius. The climactic ending 1022.gif

Your user name is Echoes, and yet that isn't one of your top 3 Pink Floyd songs? ohmy.gif

Echoes is a masterpiece - should be in everyone's top 3 IMHO. wink.gif

My list is the same as it originally was as well, but allow me to add in Bike and Jugband Blues to the Syd-era honorable mention list and Julia Dream, Embryo, Atom Heart Mother, Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Let There Be More Light and Learning to Fly to the post-Syd honorable mention list.

I don't know how I missed all of those first time around - I must have been being lazy that day. SOOOO many incredible songs to choose from... smile.gif
