QUOTE (tick @ Aug 27 2011, 10:15 AM)
The ominous sky moves forward like a Lion hunting its prey. Its callous and calculated. It will not show mercy for the weak for it feeds on there fear. The anger of its wrath brings the people to there knees. Pray you find yourself in its good graces.

The clouds prepare for battle

In the dark and brooding silence.

Bruised and sullen stormclouds

Have the light of day obscured.

Looming low and ominous

In twilight premature

Thunderheads are rumbling

In a distant overture...

All at once, the clouds are parted.

Light streams down in bright unbroken beams...

Follow men's eyes as they look to the skies.

The shifting shafts of shining weave the fabric of their dreams...

Man, Neil sure knows how to talk fancy!

On a somber note I read where there has been some fatalties connected with the storm. One was a surfer. Seems like that happens every time. sad.gif

deaths from Irene

Fortunately, Irene has made a nice breezy day here in Charlotte, NC.

But yeah, be safe. yes.gif

It's downgraded to tropical storm status now. In the Boston area, it's just a wind and rain event. That may worsen later on. Still have power.

So far, as far as I'm concerned, it's a non-event. I've seen thunderstorms that are worse than this.

In my area lots of power outages, some flooding, but not too bad, less than expected. The violence of the wind was FAR worse in a thunderstorm we had in the middle of the night about two weeks ago.

In Richmond area:

House survived okay. One tree down. Still without power since 2:30pm yesterday. 75% of RIC area without power.

I played a nice acoustic set on the front porch (covered) last night. I hope I didn't upset the neighbors. Very cool with the 45 mile per hour breeze and spray in your face.

Rush tunes included:

Return Of The Prince

No One At The Bridge

Bacchus Plateau

Making Memmories

Broons Band > Trees intro
