They should do like Dream Theater and change a couple of songs on each night... So that some shows would be unique.

I know a lot of people express this sentiment but I don't really think you gain that much. The overwhelming majority of the audience is only going to one show (especially now with high ticket prices combined with a bad economy) so they're (obviously) only going to see one show's worth of songs anyway. Songs played the next night might as well be played the next tour. Considering they play for almost 3 hours I think they feel like they're giving everybody everything as it is. Think of it this way, if they were like almost every other older touring band they'd be playing closer to 90 minutes total. So it's like we're getting a full 90 minute show and almost another 90 minutes of alternates every night.

It's just not worth the extra rehearsal, logistical, and production costs to switch out a few songs night by night for the tiny percentage of fans who will see them more than once. Even if you see them more than once there's no guarantee you won't get the same set twice. That happened to me on the VT tour. I saw set A in Houston, missed set B in San Antonio, and then saw set A again in Dallas. So all you get is a sense of frustration that you missed some songs that weren't played during your night or else the feeling that you have to pay for another full show just to see a couple different songs. The only reason I can see them doing this is if they feel like it keeps them fresher. Sometimes they switch out songs between legs when they know they'll be revisiting areas so that basically accomplishes what you want anyway.

Why in God's name would they play Superconductor????

Word! That would be a terrible choice

I want to forever see Closer to the Heart and Marathon, but i would also like to see:

Chemistry

Spirit of Radio

Farewell to Kings

Finding My Way

Crossroads (Rush's version eats Clapton's soulless version alive and spits it out on the side of the road like so much roadkill)

Dreamline (I'm dabbling at being a writer right now, writing a book about a post apocalyptic world inspired by the song Dreamline..."They travel on the road to redemption, on the desert highway straight to the heart of the sun...")

The Trees

Xanadu

YYZ

Jacob's Ladder

La Villa Strangiato

Tai Shan

Witch Hunt

Middletown Dreams

Grand Designs

Faithless

Earthshine

Leave That Thing Alone

I know that's a lot, and may not make much sense, but to be honest, I could listen to these guys for days. I hope they tour next year, and if they do, I expect them to pay major tribute to one of my favorite Rush albums of all time, Signals (being it's 30th anniversary and all), but I agree that they will probably take a break next year and resume the harried lifestyle fo the road in 2013, which is fine, because my son will be 5, and old enough to really enjoy and remember the show.

Gosh I would really like to see another spoof of "the history of rash" again but with a different song. What song I don't know

I would love to see a farewell to kings in it's entirety

To be really frank.....I don't care what they play at this point. After seeing every tour (save for Power Windows) starting with the Signals tour there is not much left on my Rush bucket list.

So I hope a couple or handful of these nuggets are played on the next tour:

Jacobs Ladder

The Analog Kid

Middletown Dreams

The Body Electric

The Weapon

Afterimage

Lock and Key

Alien Shore

Cold Fire

Something for Nothing

Anthem

Vaportrail

A Farewell to Kings

IF they have a 2012 tour, which at this point they will likely only announce the tour in late 2012 and start it in early 2013. This is what I would want from the set:

Tom Sawyer

Distant Early Warning

<2 songs from CA>

Test for Echo

Jacob's Ladder

Vapor Trail

Clockwork Angels (that epic they promised us)

<intermission>

<2 more CA songs>

Drum Solo

Xanadu

Available Light

A Farewell to Kings

2112 (full)

Encore:

Cygnus X-1 prologue/La Villa Strangiato (with Lerxst rant)

YYZ

As "Clockwork Angels" is supposed to be a concept album , it wouldn`t surprise me if they played the whole album in full on the next tour. There was also talk of them playing the entire "Snakes & Arrows" album on that tour , so I`m sure that`s something they certainly will consider. My take on the setlist for the "Clockwork Angels" tour:

Set 1:

Clockwork Angels (the album)

Set 2:

1.Intro

2.Test For Echo

3.Limelight

4.Cut To The Chase

5.Vapor Trail

6.Bravado

7.Middletown Dreams

8.Jacob`s Ladder

9.The Rhythm Method

10.Alex Lifeson acoustic intro

11.A Farewell To Kings

12.2112 Overture/Temples Of Syrinx/Grand Finale

13.The Spirit Of Radio

14.Tom Sawyer

Encore:

1.Far Cry

2.YYZ

3.Subdivisions
