Tommy Sawyer
I must say for the record that I've been listening to Thick as a Brick a bit lately, and it's really starting to grow on me. It's not like I didn't like it previously, I just thought it was perhaps a bit overblown and I never quite got it. I'm starting to get it. :D:haz: Thick as a Brick rules! :haz:

stoopid
3 hours ago, Texas King said: One album per band: No. [mostly because it's a list of albums, can't help it if some bands are better and/or have more genre defining releases than others] In no order and with no sense of objectivity, these are my personal faves... Close to the Edge - Yes 2112 - Rush A Farewell to Kings - Rush Brain Salad Surgery - ELP [but I'm slowly warming to Trilogy and the self titled] Falling Satellites - Frost Red - King Crimson THRAK - King Crimson Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd Animals - Pink Floyd The Mountain - Haken [despite being a Genesis and Dream Theater fan, neither are really my jam nowadays]

Swap out Caress Of Steel, add in either Leftoverture, the debut or POKR.

Mick I've never really been as into classic prog as many here. I came to Rush via their influence on metal bands I love. And I prefer AOR to prog. Mick That will literally be me when I get the chance. Pretty busy these days, but I'm always interested in endlessly reanalyzing what I like and what I prefer to other things. I will bet I wind up skewing in favor of bands in my top 5 of all time (or those that feel like they're in my top ten though I don't formally have one). Queen, Rush, Muse, Genesis I'm almost sure will all be there.
stoopid
I really need 20 albums to be what I would think is an accurate representation of the important albums to me. Several missing from my list that appear on other lists would be 12, 15, 16, 18, etc on mine.
