probably these as well. Once in a while FBN and CoS (and/or Signals)might creep into the top 5 but these 5 here would be the mainstays.

1. Signals
2. Permanent Waves
3. Power Windows
4. Moving Pictures
5. (Gasp!) Hold Your Fire

I realize that I am solidly in the 80's here but that's when Rush really took hold for me.

I do love 2112 through Hemispheres and I listen to Presto to S and A a ton. But these 5 albums define me as a Rush fan.

We're in the same boat on that HigherWater! rimshot.gif Egads, that was bad tongue.gif

Mine are:

1. Power Windows (or is it GUP?)

2. Grace Under Pressure (or is it PoW?)

3. Signals

4. Moving Pictures

5. Hold Your Fire

My name should have been Synthia...

ATWAS

That's interesting. So far the first post to mention one of the live albums. For me personally, ATWAS is my fav. Rush live album. It was the second Rush album I heard after first hearing AFTK back in '78.

(next would be PeW, then FBN)

Oddly enough it is a five-album run, 2112-Moving Pictures which I 100% believe to be the very zenith of Rush's career. There are very few, if any other bands that can claim to have peaked for five straight albums. I love or at least like all of their albums, but in this order I rank these five-star-all-time-rock-classic albums:

1. Moving Pictures

2. Hemispheres

3. 2112

4. Permanent Waves

5. A Farewell To Kings

When I see any of these albums at the bottom of anyone's Rush album rankings, I just shake my head and think of them as fools. confused13.gif

Nothing odd about it at all...this is the pinnacle of their career...my rankings, from 1 to 5:

Permanent Waves

Hemispheres

A Farewell to Kings

2112

Moving Pictures
