Fleet Foxes Appreciation

Recommended Posts

I had a free download for "Helplessness Blues" but iTunes screwed up and I lost it. The logical response to this would be to make Fleet Foxes appreciation thread, obviously.

Anyhow, I'm beginning to listen to them more and it's pretty addictive, Fleet Foxes have my complete approval.

I saw them on SNL and then went on line to listen more and see if I should buy. I don't think they did a good job of putting down on the computer what they are capable of sounding like.

Been listening to them for years. As lame and stereotypically snobby as it sounds, I first heard them in a sort of hippy coffee shop across the street from where I worked. They always seemed to have the album on for a while there and I always seemed to be taking my coffee break when White Winter Hymnal was playing. It was addictive for me. I like listening to them when I'm in a mellow mood...or doing some light reading or studying.

tongue.gif Heheh. Yeah, figured there probably wouldn't be a lot of love for folksy stuff here. While not in my top 10 by any means, I really enjoy listening to them. Of course, there is very little I don't genuinely enjoy listening to; so that doesn't really say much.

Marvellous. Saw them last Sunday night. Fantastic gig. Love the new album, not as immediate as the debut and EP, but that's a good thing.

One thing though, they are the Robin Pecknold Band and if body language is anything to go by, Casey Wescott ain't a happy camper.

Love them. I saw them at the Tower Theater in Philly in May and the show was fantastic. Both albums get a lot of spin at the house. Even the ep which sounds a bit Steely Dan-ish at times. I got tickets to see them at Massy Hall in July.

You don't say? That's interesting. Well, I guess we'll see how long they stay together.

I hope I'm wrong, because I think they're fantastic. But, there was something up with Casey Sunday night. He just seemed to sulk his way through the set. Could have been an offday.

It was this interview that sparked my interest in the band. Hopelessness Blues is still growing on me, but their first album might be one of the best first albums ever released. A bona fide classic.

"Your Protector", "Tiger Mountain Peasant Song" and "Mykonos" have been on heavy rotation in my car stereo for months now - and I'm not getting the least tired of them!
