drbirdsong
You can't rewrite the past. I wish I could in my own life and I'd be willing to bet a member or two of Rush wish they could. I can give you a song here and there ( -- I Think I'm Going Bald -- ) I could do without, but where would they be without the mistakes..? Well, pilgrim, they might be making them now. Who wants to hear that with modern technology? (...Snakes & Arrows mentions commmmming... )

Shreddy Lee
Red Lenses. It's the first song, chronologically, in their entire discography that I actively dislike, and the only stinker on an otherwise solid album.

EmotionDetector
QUOTE (StellarJetman @ Jun 21 2011, 12:42 PM) Permanent Waves: "Jacob's Ladder", the "Permanent Waves" section of "Natural Science" Power Windows: "Marathon", possibly "Emotion Detector" Presto: "Scars", possibly "Anagram", "Hand Over Fist" Roll the Bones: The rap, "Where's My Thing?", "Neurotica", "You Bet Your Life" Test for Echo: "Half the World", "Time and Motion", "Totem", "Dog Years", possibly "Resist", "Carve Away the Stone" LOL...wow, lots of craziness in your post. For me, I just find it so funny how different our tastes are! You mentioned Natural Science, Marathon, Scars, Neurotica, and Time & Motion which are probably my favourite tracks from each of their respective albums! metaldad
QUOTE (StellarJetman @ Jun 21 2011, 11:42 AM) 2112: "A Passage to Bangkok" (I know that I'm going to be crucified for this one.) A Farewell to Kings: Everything after "Xanadu" (I just hate that album. Sorry!) Hemispheres: Nothing much, really, although the title track could have used a lot more work. Permanent Waves: "Jacob's Ladder", the "Permanent Waves" section of "Natural Science" Moving Pictures: "Witch Hunt" (Too annoyingly preachy, I'm afraid.) Signals: "Countdown", not so much because it's weak (I don't much care for most of the songs on Signals, actually), but because it's weak and keeps the album going after "Losing It", which would have been a perfect finale. You are Insane...........

GeddysMullet
There are some Rush songs I don't like, and a couple that I absolutely can't listen to, but I don't think any of them should have been "left out." I might not like them, but somebody else does!

O_o Dude, that song just bugs the crap out of me. I know it might sound petty, but the way Geddy sings the chorus falsetto is a big turn off to me - ruins the song, and it's not a song I would be crazy about even without that. Available Light is for me easily one of the top 3 most overrated Rush songs, if not number one.

Somebody out there loves being cruel to small animals too, but that doesn't mean if I had my druthers, that I wouldn't choose to have that inclination wiped off the face of the earth. I'm glad that people like the songs I don't, but if it were up to me they wouldn't have been permitted to be released. Thank God for you and for the others who love those songs that it's not up to me, huh?
