"I'll Never Eat THAT Again!!"

Recommended Posts

I had lobster once and cannot bring myself to try it again. I know it wasn't prepared right but it was such a horrible taste and texture, it still makes me shiver... twenty years later. That's how bad it was. I've had food poisoning easily over thirty times in my life and I have forced myself to re-try those foods/dishes that made me ill but I cannot bring myself to try lobster again. That's how awful it was. Tasted like burnt curdled milk and had more chew than a tire.

That's my #2 dish after roast pork (cooked in a pit and covered with leaves or spit-roast)

I'm shocked again! Peking duck is my #3! ohmy.gif

I'm no food snob [good food can be found in every corner of the planet] but I reckon you went to a crummy restaurant. Traditionally, Peking duck is served in a steamed pancake with spring onions and a sweet bean sauce. Then, cucumber sticks are added to that. You basically roll up all that lovely stuff within the pancake and go to town.

Funnily, the fortune cookie isn't even really Chinese. It's actually based more on a Japanese cracker. But somehow it got popular in the U.S.

P.S. Of all the Chinese restaurants I went to in China I only found ONE place that gave me a fortune cookie...and that was the one with nothing but foreign tourists on a tour.

Just sayin'.

Balut. A Filipino delicacy which is a nearly fully-formed duck or chicken embryo. The bird is mostly there, complete with beak and feathers. It's hard-boiled and served as a snack food.

I saw those on Bizarre Foods. Usually that show doesn't gross me out but I felt sick after watching that scene. 062802puke_prv.gif

WINNER!!!!

That is by far the worst smelling food ever...not "smell", STENCH! NOTHING in this thread (or anything to be named) comes close!!!

Kind of ironic that my favorite food (Filipino) also has THE WORST food too!

The filipino kid in my class likes it. Gotta start young developing a taste for this, I suppose.

Really??? That has got to be the strangest tasting stuff I have ever eaten. And the aftertaste was worse...almost like plastic. Listerine wouldn't even get rid of it. I was told it was supposed to settle your stomach, being ginger and all, but I thought I was gonna 062802puke_prv.gif !
