Neil Peart Evolution Snare Drum Collection

After months of waiting, it finally arrived. I got my collection at the end of last month right after returning from the Nashville concert. I am just now getting some decent photos of it. It looks so amazing that I don't think I can get myself to select a drum for my kit.

I really wanted to figure out a way to see if I could get Neil to sign the head of the TM snare. I tried called DW Drums and they pretty much blew me off. rage.gif

I'm going to the Phx, both LA and the Vegas concerts in a few weeks. I was hoping to maybe bring it along and see if I could get it signed. Am I smoking?

Holy crap. I didn't even know about that collection. Just a couple of the snares. Are you rich? LOL That must have cost at least 4-5 grand? Very nice indeed. I don't have any snares quite that nice but I do own 7 huge kits. About 70 drums total. Including a Super Classic kit like Neil used to play.

Send the head to one of those venues with SASE and you will likely get it signed, personalized as well. Awesome set! How you can even use any of them is great. The problem I've had with Neil's sig snares is wanting to preserve them and with this set I don't think I'd be able to bang on them. I use my R30 one and got rid of the rest since I didn't see myself using them. Congrats on your purchase!

Holy crap...they are beautiful!

In terms of getting the TM snare signed, i'd be scared to let it out of my sight, but good luck with it, I hope you get your (well, Neil's) signature. wink.gif

For that price, you'd think Neil, John Good, Lorne, AND Larry Allen would sign them, deliver them AND set them up for you! new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Anyway... I was at my local drum shop the other day for some parts and saw a set sitting there...didn't want to know HOW much because I could feel the Mastercard throbbing in my back pocket, and I would LIKE to stay married!

Very sweet looking set, would have trouble touching, moving, or even playing them...too pristine!!!

Enjoy!

aren't they all the same drum, just with a different finish? seems like you don't really need all 4...

I went back and looked at that too.

They are all a little different, but not enough to justify getting all 4, IMO.

They are all 6" X 14", they are all maple (2 are VLT snares, and 2 are not)

The hardware ranges from gold plated to brass to nickel.

But hey, if you have the money.......

Are they really the same shells? Not even different wood or plies? Wow what a waste.

If i was spending that much id want a variety of snares to record with. Of course this guy will probably not even play them

No doubt man! If Neil refuses to sign him, I would sell them on ebay and never listen to Rush again and never do anything to promote them. Flush them down the toilet.

I can almost guarantee you though that he won't sign them. I am sorry about that. I agree that if you paid that much money, by all means he should sign them.

What I would do is mail a drumhead to the venue of your choice for Neil to sign, hope you get it mailed back to you, and then change the head yourself.
