Are Rush fans 'generally' into Sci Fi?

Count me in too - watched all of Star Trek and Star Wars and a lot of other sci-fi movies, even went to conventions in the late '90's-early 2000's and did a fair bit of costuming in my day. One of these days I'm gonna scan my old pics of me as a Klingon and post 'em here for you all to see.

These days, I'm catching up with The 4400...about halfway through it.

You guys make me happy. ;w;

The 4400 was fantastic, and it always came around the same time as The Dead Zone.

Darn you USA for canceling it!!! :C

I don't like any fantasy, and truthfully, I don't care much for MOST sci-fi: but the Star Trek universe is a special exception. Star Trek is one of the greatest creative endeavors of the 20th century, and I am insanely in love with it.

HELL NO...I just love to kick the ever livin' crap out of every sci-fi nerd I see while using my +5 vorpal two handed sword, my flaming mace, in +3 chain mail of protection, whilst Ioun Stones orbit my helm of ultimate influence adorned head creating a sphere of indestructability and power.

Hate sci-fi pretty much across the board. Probably explains why I don't like a lot of Neil's lyrics until "Permanent waves" when he started writing more about his take on reality.

What was all that by-tor stuff about, anyway?

I don't really care for sci-fi at all.

I use to watch Next Generation a little on TV a few years ago, but mostly because that was the best thing on at that time, it had its moments, though.

Not this Rush fan. I don't follow any Sci-Fi whatsoever.

Me either. I've never been a comics fan either.

And I've had sex. Lots of it. With real flesh and blood men. biggrin.gif

Just out of sheer curiosity, it seemed to be a kind of consistent theme I had noticed....Rush seem to attract a great deal of Sci Fi fans?

I guess I am one for sure, with a definate penchant for Star Wars! 1022.gif

Back in the early days of my 'Rush youth' after rushing to my library to order them, I certainly read the books that had been mentioned by Neil as inspirational...not sure they could entirely be classed as 'sci fi' (fantasy?) but they inspired me and have stuck with me since...

Absolutely! I love Rush, Star Wars, Star Trek, Terminator, Aliens, X-Files, The Matrix, Avatar, well basically all Sc-Fi. And I just Love |Rush for lack of a better word! So the Answer is YES! Oh I Love Prog!

Is that Deep Thought?

As in, is that a chess playing computer?

No.

It is very complicated...

I have it on good authority that Deep Blue is a Rush fan.

...Likes Dog Years too, apparently.

Rush fans are generally nerds; nerds are generally into science fiction.

This. Most definitely.
