LeaveMyThingAlone
QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ May 5 2011, 09:50 PM) I hated this album and its depressing drone. The supporting tour was a real snoozer, as I remember. The supporting act was Candlebox. As supporting acts go, it wasn't Rush's best
LeaveMyThingAlone
Counterparts is a criminally underrated album, truly one of Rush's all-time best and absolutely their best album since Moving Pictures. It rocks so much... Animate has become one of my all-time favorite Rush tunes... Double Agent is the most overlooked Rush song in their catalog. It's sick how much this song rocks... Leave that thing Alone is Rush's greatest instrumental (Yes, I said it) Cut to the Chase rocks and has one of Alex's greatest solos.. Everyday Glory is Rush's greatest closing song... Between Sun and Moon is just so...awesome... Stick it Out just a great in your face rock song... Nobody's Hero has great acoustic work from Alex... Yeah, I'm a fan...I have worn this album out from start to finish over the last 17 years....cant believe it's been that long. This tour was the last that Rush had a supporting act AND was also the lat time the boys played Hemispheres prelude...

1-0-0-1-0-0-1
QUOTE (Queen of Megadon @ May 9 2011, 03:25 PM) QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ May 8 2011, 11:54 PM) Double Agent is the most overlooked Rush song in their catalog. It's sick how much this song rocks... Yes, this. When you listen to new songs from a favorite band, you usually have one of three reactions. You either don't care for it, you think it's pretty good and maybe you will grow to love it, or you're glued to it instantly. When I first heard "Double Agent," I was glued. Coming on the heels of three frustratingly thin-sounding keyboard-laden Rush Lite albums, CP was a "Yes, they got their balls back!" listening experience, and "DA" sounded downright mean. barney_rebel
CP was an album that basically shut all the folks that were still complaining about RTB and Presto. They did a fine job too.
An Enemy Without
QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ May 8 2011, 11:54 PM) Counterparts is a criminally underrated album, truly one of Rush's all-time best and absolutely their best album since Moving Pictures. It rocks so much... Not the best since MP. One of the best, maybe, but not the best. I would put GUP just above this one in terms of overall greatness. I'm also fond of Presto, but that's just my personal opinion.
Cosy Toes
It's better than anything they've done since. It's better than the three they did before it. It's nowhere near as good as the first nine. I do occasionally choose to listen to it.

Harperspace
Well after God knows how many years of not 'Getting' Counterparts, the penny finally dropped for me the other day. I stuck it on the iPod when I started a long walk through the English Peak District in Derbshire, and found it to be a perfect walking album. In fact it was such a positive experience I repeated it again before the end of the walk. I wish I could say the same thing about Vapor Trails so I might 'Get' that too in another ten years! ZYRANNIX
One of my favourites Harperspace - I listened to Vapor Trails a while back and "got" it more than when it first came out. How It Is is now one of my favourites, even like Secret Touch a bit more. Edited May 23, 2011 by ZYRANNIX
trenken
I like a few songs on it, and I appreciated them getting away from the synth stuff and lame soft rock of previous albums, but some of these songs just have a corny rock feel to them. They didnt feel modern to what was going on around them at the time, which is band has always done. Just wish they were a bit edgy or something. And dont get me started on some of the lyrics on this album.
