The Mighty Dudad
I know this was mentioned over at Rush Is A Band, but hadn't seen it here yet. The Irish Times posted an interview with Geddy Lee today. Nothing really earth shattering or new, but nice to see some Irish press in advance of their first ever visit. Click here to read. Hatchetaxe&saw
QUOTE (tel @ Apr 30 2011, 10:05 AM) Hard to believe they havent been to ireland in 40 years of touring, and geddys response "it just dident work out"...really? I believe him. We rarely got bands from across the pond. British bands normally came over here to do their first shows to iron out any wrinkles. The only ones who religiously came over nearly every year were Quo & Springsteen, bless them. And let's face it, Ireland in the '70's and most of the '80's was pretty f*cking grey, and dangerous in places. We're in the economic shitter now, but at least we have motorways, nice cities, facilities & venues. And Rush had a tiny fan base here up until now. And even now, the o2 attendance will be complemented by a healthy overseas contingent. Still, 12 sleeps til Rush! Dublin, Baby!!!
Hatchetaxe&saw
Just fished a copy of the paper out of the recycling bin. It's great to see them in an Irish paper. This one will be kept.
