Gas 17, Charcoal 6

What the f**k is wrong with you people?! Gas is good for burgers, and hot dogs I guess... but anything other than that... you have to go charcoal or wood

I live in Texas, and Gas is pretty much punishable by law down here.. tongue.gif

if i had the time and money i would buy a smoker and use wood. it's either a smoker or a gas grill. i don't like the cheap charcoal taste.

I use wood chips when I use charcoal.. that helps ALOT! Try that, still even plain charcoal is better than Gas...

I swear we had a thread in the past, and if so, someone bump and I'll merge.

But just wanted to brag, check out my new baby. Won it in a contest last year:

What pain it was to install.

Very nice! Have the exact make and model (down to the color). It's the first grill I have ever had that stays a very consistant heat above 500.

Awesome thing of beauty, Barn! I want one just like that!!! I tired of buying crappy grills for $299.00 that last about three years. Its time to bite the bullet and get a Weber!

Sweet! I was looking at the Genesis as well.

I am still looking for a BBQ...it will be my first one.

I have been looking at both Weber and Broil King. From what I can see, can't really go wrong with either of these brands.

Like Tick mentioned...I will most likely bite the bullet and buy a pricier BBQ. Something that will last us a long time!

Can't wait to find one...

My grill was over 10 years old and I had unfortunately replaced the burner with a cast iron one last summer. Then I won this thing, so my old BBQ is still decent.

When this was all set up, I go to my father in law, "umm where do we out the rocks?"

He goes, "rocks? You don't need rocks anymore!"

Man, am I going thru the charcoal!

I grill all year long, and load up on the Labor day sale to get me thru to the Memorial day sale :) I have been going thru over a bag a month, grilling like crazy. Usually have been grilling 4+ days a week. I love this time of year!

I've been using charcoal, lately, but there is nothing wrong with using gas, and putting a "smoker pouch" on one of the burners.

Slow n low for bigger cuts of meat and sear it on high heat for thinner cuts.

And chicken doesn't need to be cooked to 180 degrees. 160 degrees for a chicken breast is fine.
