Angra - Rebirth

bekloppt.gif Hi, I am here today to promote one of my all-time favorite albums, andquestionably most favorite power metal album ever... A brief description of power metal since I know a sum of you hate the genre or are unaware of it: it's basically heavy metal with cleaner, more melody based vocals, fast paced drumming and guitar strumming (can get generic), a good amount of keyboard use, and positive lyrics.. When negative, it's usually sad rather than angry, and common power metal topics are on fantasy or love.. I don't even see the genre as metal at all personally. Power Metal is my favorite genre next to Progressive Rock, it gives off this amazing, adventurous vibe... Epic music.

Anyways, onto this album... I discovered it a year back, or maybe even two years back at this point, and from front to back - it's great.. Impressive guitar solos, and some drum & bass playing that stand out at times (which is very atypical in power metal), but the vocals steal the show, it may just be unlike anything you've ever heard before. That, or I'm just crazy and for whatever reason have a personal attachment to this album..

So if you're interested, get this album.. Here's what I think are 3 songs that sum up the album well if you're just curious:

I used to love Angra a few years back, but then they changed the lineup - I think 3 out of 5 members were sacked due to a copyright issue, or disagreement about management. Their first albums were my favorites - Holy Land, Fireworks and Angels Cry. When it comes to power metal, Helloween and Angra are simply unbeatable!!

Has anyone here picked up this album who was before foreign to power metal?

The bassists (since they've switched over the years) of Angra all are amazingly talented... I may have forgotten to mention that..

Anyways, I'm listening to this album right now, you're missing out cool.gif

/my last plug for this album ITT
