At the very least you could paste the link to your m&g photo!

I'd prefer to remain anonymous. Yes I would do it again but will admit 2k probably would have worked.

The M&G had a lot of people maybe 40-50? We had to go fast and had time for a handshake, photo and a quick comment to Alex. After everyone was in the room security came down and said that there were two late comers. Band security said "too bad" so there must be 2 really unhappy Rush fans out there. Anyone who goes to a M&G make sure you get to the designated meeting point well ahead of the stated time.

The show was really great!

I payed $450 for an official meet and greet with Sabbath (heaven and hell), 3rd row ticket and beer and food included. it was amazing. Ronnie god rest his soul was great and spoke to me for what seemed like ages about none BS stuff, he seemed like he cared. I bet Rush wouldnt do that. Plus they all signed a picture (which I brought in)

Here is the truely rock and roll picture

I have thought about waving some cash around and trying to buy a meet and greet from someone at a show, but am nervous. Would there be anything illegal about attempting to do this ? Would it be like scalping tix at a show ? I scored second row to the first LA show in June, and would really hate to miss the show being escorted out to the parking lot or even worse, a holding cell.

"scalping" is legal in most states. M&G were free so I think you can name your price for what the market will bare.

Do I get some cash if I show you where you can find tickets for sale with a meet & greet included for well under that amount?

Seriously. I show you the spot (not scalpers)...you hook me up with some gear money. (I'm upgrading my home studio.) Just a couple of benjamins....or beer money?

(Is this douchey? i mean, i figure, what have i got to lose?)

Years ago I think I would have really wanted to meet them enough to pay $3K. But now I'd love to just party with the from the front row for 3 hours. 11th row is the closest I've ever made it since I started seeing them in 1991 and that was this past weekend in Hershey. Might splurge on the next tour for first 3 rows if available. If anyone has any tips for getting first 3 rows without knowing someone I'd love to hear it.

Ditto for me. I've got 13th row for Portland this year, and that's the closest I've ever been. How anyone can get the first few rows without paying an arm and a leg to a scalper, or by knowing someone is beyond me.

Many venues have VIP programs. Where you pay a "membership" fee to get the first yay/nay on events. The memberships are crazy and they do not include tickets.

I looked into it for a venue here in phoenix, The Dodge Theater, it was about 5k+ a year for the membership alone for a 2 seat option! With the prices being what they are, they are likely only enrolled by the elite or ticket brokers.

You're far better off waiting out back of whatever venue to meet them after the show. I doubt there are many people who do this nowadays with Rush. If there are, just wait and be the last person to talk with them which may get you more time than with the other people. Also have something to talk about, not just adulation - that's boring to any famous person.

I remember the RTB show in Toronto when we were 16 and we waited after the show to meet them. I had to leave before they came out due to a curfew. So I was green with envy to learn my friend Jeremy met Alex and chatted with him for about 5 minutes and then got his autograph.

Around that same time Geddy was interviewed live at Q107 in Toronto and we waited out to meet him after the interview. He finally came out with his wife. He didn't say anything to us, just sort of looked at us blankly and signed our stuff (including my Show Of Hands poster).

Having watched the extras on Beyond The Lighted Stage you can see Alex is a golf junkie and loves playing while on tour. I'd send a letter through Ray Daniels perhaps or their tour manager Liam Birt inviting Alex (when the tour passes through your area) for a round of 18 and dinner at the best private members only golf course in the area with the club's golf pro in tow. If you don't write the invitation in too fanboy-ish a fashion he might even accept.

He might even welcome the company because he probably does most of his on-tour golf days alone (as he is in the documentary).

I've read on this forum that you can get stuff signed by even Neil if you mail it to Liam Birt to the venue they'll be playing at shortly before the concert date.

The options through Ticketmaster, like Premium Seat Auction and VIP Packages can sometimes really be worth it (relative to scalpers).

We drew 4th row center for Las Vegas this time around. Those exact seast are selling on Ticketliquidator for $802 each (plus the massive fees). We paid $700 for both, and got the VIP swag (DVD, CD, Shirt, Poster, etc.).

Still not the cheapest tickets, but it can be done.

I got 3rd row dead center for Vegas last summer through TM Auction. Paid 700/ticket but they were exact center, and were quite a bit cheaper than the brokers were getting for this show.

One thing to consider with the TM Auctions is that the price you bid is the exact price you pay, There are no additional fees or charges which make it not a bad deal sometimes. Ive gotten 5th row a couple of times for California shows on the auctions for around 300 bucks.

Good point about the fees.

Yeah, we're 4th row dead center. I felt really good about that draw.

We've been 2nd and 3rd row before (at Marysville and Reno) but paid scalpers much more than what the VIP Tickets cost.

And there's always the thought that the band is getting their fair share of those tickets, rather than people profitting for doing nothing but hogging tickets.

I saw a listing for The Cars show we're going to on eBay, someone was selling 26 tickets in a block...no splitting. How the hell does someone get 26 tickets??
