So am I. I am just as timid of the limelight (Rush reference! ) as he is. It makes complete sense to me why he would be uncomfortable around strangers, especially given the events of his life thirteen years ago. But all the same, he is a human being just like his fans, a very intelligent and talented one, at that. He has family and a close circle of friends, including Geddy and Alex. Not only does The Professor take us through how he built tha various drum parts but he tells some lovely stories. He's so natural and comfortable before the camera. CMWriter Posted November 4, 2011 Share Posted November 4, 2011 As has been my custom, I'm going to dedicate this next momentous post - my 3000th - to THE PROFESSOR, or Neil Peart, as we all know him. So here I am in the thick of NaNoWriMo (okay not really it's only the third day) and my first year of college, about a year and a couple months since my first (and only so far) RUSH concert, when I got to see Neil do his thing for the first time. Since then I've been inspired to write more, get back into bicycle riding, and of course check out more and more kinds of music. He's such an inspiration to me it's just crazy. And so, here's to Neil Peart, who brings me happiness in more ways than one. OMAHA HAPPINESS.
